A great win - the most meaningful I can remember for a really long time.

Best thing is you can see the boys are truly starting to believe in themselves and each other.

Unlikely we can count on Collingwood kicking so poorly next time round, but I reckon we’ve still go a lot of upside left in this team, so I think we’re on the cusp of a new era of Carlton/Collingwood rivalry. Good news is that we’re younger and not yet at our full potential.

How good would it be to win our next, long awaited flag compliments of our good friends at Collingwood?
Then again, Pies can’t count on all of Walsh, McKay, JSOS and Cerra missing. Would love to play them in the finals, I really would

Jesse Motlop….I wasn’t sure about you for a while. I apologise for having any doubts at all. Not that you care what I think. But regardless. My bad.

You’re EXACTLY what we need.
The instinctual tackling/pressure acts by the team over the past few weeks has been a delight to watch.

Jesse's strong tackling was what we were waiting for. We know he has goal sense.

It just seems something has clicked for the team. It doesn't matter who gets the ball, who kicks the goals, if you apply pressure and work hard for each other and create space for each other, you have played your role.

The transformation over the last 6 weeks has been nothing short of incredible.

Going from a team that moved the ball so slowly. Did not take risks. Kicked down the line to a pack. Did not score (averaged 52 points a game). Did not win. A team of individuals.

Now we are a TEAM. All bought into a simple game plan of phyicality and pressure. Fast ball movement. Change of angles. Multi-options up forward. Playing like a finals team. Winning comfortably.

Martin has come back like superman. Attacking the ball and the contest so hard. He had Maynard covered for physicality and game smarts.

Cripps and Doc are showing great leadership.

Charlie is thriving on being 'the man'.

TDK is a competitive beast. Doesnt win every contest, but breaks even or brings the ball to ground most times.

Pitt was excellent. Very physical.

Love Owies passion.

Love how focussed Motlop and Owies were on applying pressure.

Weiters and Newman are in career best form.

Cerra's first half was as good as I've seen this year.

So good to watch.

Se easy to watch!

Go blues!!!

In the spirit of 'taking one for the team' and so our Blue Bretheren don't have to debase themselves, I took it upon myself to venture, quietly, onto the * post match board.

A few take aways

  • We played our grand final (Again, apparrently. I thought that was 2 weeks ago)
  • They kicked themselves out of it in the 3rd (of course their tin arse for the rest of the season goes unmentioned)
  • Charlie only gets goals because of the umpiring........WTF?
  • no mention of the armchair ride they got from the maggots for 3 quaters
  • no mention of the 'gone fishing' Daks boys' as in filled their dacks
  • apparently they lost because they played Maso. Hard to disagre with this one. Being superhuman tall does not make one a footballer.
  • delusion seems to be strong among the toothless

In simple words…we are taking the games on now. Bloody exciting to watch.

Charlie 6 goals against the ladder leaders, yet I thought he was selfless
He, TDK and Pitto went in with the express intention of refusing to let Quaynor, Howe and Moore go up at the same time. They 1) spread the defense, and 2) made ****ing sure that when the ball came to ground it was moving towards Motlop, Martin or Owies.

More in the first half than the second - think we reconfigured our ruck arrangements, with TDK spending more time marking around the ground and Pitto less time up forward - but it was evident throughout. Moore only got a mark or leap at the thing when he was against Charlie one out, and we saw how well that worked for them.

For their back six to work, they need to work together. We spread them out, creating cascading strings of one v ones, and when we won the ball from congestion we found a way to get clear and put the ball a good 60m further forward to advantage. Was beauty incarnate.
