7mins to go in the first quarter, TDK goes up for a ruck contest in centre, bad bounce, TDK uses hand to keep opposing ruck away and gets called for a ruck infringement

I am an old timer but surely that is not a free kick and the umpire has ****** up, surely the rules haven’t changed that much and rucks can stop opposition rucks from winning the tap??

Don't want to dwell on the negatives after a win like that but Marchbank is a worry for mine. Obviously a difficult game to be thrown back into the senior team for but I saw him as a clear weak link.

He is a good mark but some of his body positioning was really poor and the play tends to stagnate when he has ball in hand. Has always taken a long time getting the ball from hand to foot and the opposition know this and try and close him down. Decision making questionable too.

Not sure what we do given Young's loss of form, perhaps worth persisting with Marchbank for a few more weeks to see if he can find his groove.

At this stage, Boyd would likely replace him

It is amazing how a team who looked so slow and stagnant, and wouldn’t tackle, now looks fast and fluid, and tackling everything. A team who literally couldn’t hit the side of a barn by foot, now pin pointing passing up the ground. It is hard to believe it is the same team.

Clearly shows how much this sport is above the shoulders.

Every time the game required someone to stand up Doc seemed to appear.

Also if N.Daicos polls a vote for squibbing around getting 15 second half touches then i would hope Cerra polls for his 20 touches, super clean whenever he was near it I assume is neck and neck in your BnF with Charlie?

Enjoy the win gents

And ladies thank you very much.

The umpire in the first half where complete under the impression 'a top of the ladder' team can do no wrong mentality. This thought process has been evidnet for years now.

Boyd has one more match on the sidelines. Then he could come straight back in, maybe for Marchy. Of course this makes our defence shorter, but pacier. Boyd is best 22 for mine, but has not really hit his straps yet this season. Hopefully we will see him do this in the coming weeks.

Copped an infraction last night, a tad bourbon related, reminded the flogs on their board that that two flags in 60 years hardly represents success, oh and brought to their attention the significance of 1910....flogs sooked it up
Infractions and Collingwood games go hand in hand man …

Collingwood 7 x 30yo
They are in their window right now and need to win one right now…

Carlton 1 x 30yo
We can win one now
And will only get better …
Just to accentuate your point, pies had ten players 29 or over. They are an older side than I realised. Almost this year, or bust for them.
Whereas we have a great five years of finals footy in front of us, hopefully.

The umpires set new records for shocking ruck infringement calls last night, but to an extent ruck infringements are shit rules to adjudicate anyway.

I saw a few positives , and put down the negatives to lack of games. If he can play to the high standard we think he can get to , then look out coz the back 6 are pretty strong at the moment and he can only enhance it.
Young just looks out of sorts at the moment. Happy to persist with Caleb

Worst decision of the night

So, I found myself last night seated amongst the Pies cheer squad. I was very magnanimous of course. With every Charlie free kick in the last my grin got wider and wider. What a bizarre roller coaster of a season. Gotta love footy.

As soon as defenders realise that holding and blocking Curnow when the ball is nowhere within the contested call area the the sooner there will be less free kicks given to Curnow.

I thought Charlie should have had about 3 more free kicks in the first half

Worst decision of the night

It was tough because the bounce put the ball on his head and he couldn’t protect himself, but it wasn’t a wrong decision.

Further to this, it’s known as the “Mathew Primus” rule. To stop ruckmen from running past the line and blocking the opposing ruckman out of the contest. You can block if it’s a legitimate part of going for the ball, but you can’t do it as a seperate action. In this case TDK puts his arm out and blocks the ruckman and then goes for the ball.

Should put to bed Kane Cornes whinging about the Coleman race too... six goals against the best defence in the comp.

It won't. That clown actually outed himself recently that he purposely says and writes bullshit controversial things to get the clicks and "build his brand". Absolutely campaigner.
