Guys, I keep deleting posts referencing this, but can we move away from suggesting or making juvenile jokes about the bloodlines of players.

This is a public forum and parents of players do read here.

Calsher Dear did this for Beaumaris u/19's on the weekend in the VAFA:

30 disposals, 18 marks, 14 goals, 6 behinds
My reaction to that news:
Vince Mcmahon Wwe GIF

But in all seriousness, that is some of the best news I've heard all year. You cannot get a much better game than that from a key forward at a non-professional level, even if it's the U19s. Mind you, Beaumaris is a pretty good area for football talent, with our very own Cameron Mackenzie playing for them, and look how good he is. I'm not sure we will end up drafting him, whether that be in the National or Rookie Drafts, or signing him, but I think at the very least Mark McKenzie should be calling the Box Hill Hawks up to sign him for 2024. He has the talent.

Shem Tatapu-esque.

Just checking but was that a typo …… u/19’s or u/9’s?
U19’s but yeah, that side had to move up a division as they were belting sides weekly.

I’m not sure you’d take too much from those games.

Young Calsher is hoping to be drafted to an AFL club. Let’s hope the Hawks have seen enough potential and are keen. Good luck young man 🤎

Hopefully we can at least nominate him so if we decide not to pick him up or another club doesn’t we can at least rookie least him to play at Box hill to continue his development I feel he could be a late developer.

But may be starting to play hopefully he can finish the season off strong.

Calsher kicked another 8 in the under 19s this weekend too. Now 41 goals from 5 games. Big difference in quality but still some nice numbers…
Generally speaking, if you can’t get a game in the Coates Development League, you are not getting drafted. And if we do draft a tall forward, there may nto be a spot at BH for him either.

Newk? He proves my point - didn’t play U18s and missed out on being drafted.
Yeap, and there are so many other examples. Maturity, growth (physical and mental), family life, economics (having to work rather than train) and the old fashioned the coach just didn't like them. What we are now starting to seeing is Coates League is just one pathway.
