That's true. After a game we tend to lose a bit of perspective and become biased by things that occurred later. It's only at the time that you can accurately evaluate how momentously s**t an error is and whether that bloke should ever be allowed to wear the jumper again.

I think you got it right there. I've noticed that everyone in the match day thread makes those initial accurate evalutions but then they roll back later because of their loyalty to the club. We're all just too forgiving of the mistakes that the players make. We're always giving them second chances.

There should be a process that we highlight those initial game-day assessments for evaluation AFTER the game. Ironically, that role has come to us in the whipping thread....It's our role to be cruel to be kind...

A bit soft if you ask me. Insipid is a bit insipid. Weak as piss would have been much better and I didn't like the implication that he'd play another game - should have demanded that he had his jumper immediately removed from him so he never disgraced it again.

I never think much of a whip that lacks, the word disgrace, swearing, gut full or demands that he never plays again.

Strange that we started winning after the Woke King left the ground......And all that smiling and laughing that he did in the rest of the game made my stomach churn. If he was a true Pie captain, he would have gone back on and driven himself to the limit and torn the hamstring off the bone....

We can really whip Capt. Woke now because we found out we are better off without him. Murphy gets himself up despite the bad ankle injury but the show pony has had enough and is happy to sit on the sidelines in his jacket. Looks like we do not need him, and strangely enough Nick either.

I find it hard to know whether to praise Murphy for getting up after appearing injured. Or be aghast that he carried on, let the team down and refused to continue playing the week before when there was nothing wrong with him. I'm leaning to the latter. If you're going to sook about an injury - it better be a Howe bone sticking out of your arm kind of situation and it better be serious enough for you to miss a heap of games.

You nailed it again. Reminds me of those sooks in the world cup that stage for free kicks by falling all over the place and then the replays show that they werent even touched. Although you have to admit that its impressive that these wimps will lie and cheat and do anything to get a free...........which makes you wonder why the spud was staging last week.....perhaps no one told him..

maybe he was looking for attention. I noticed this week after captain woke sneaked off the field on friday, that the spud gathered the troops to talk to them....LOL...i know little johnny will listen to anyone but the bruzza must have wondered if he has slipped into an alternate universe. The spud is obviously starting to believe the crap that david king is spreading about him. King has this strategy of pumping up the pies to get clicks but also to undermine the pies by promoting overconfidence....and one bloke who cant afford to be overconfident is the spud.

with pete frampton back there next week, the pies will be the first team to go into a game with a 6 man 4 brain defence...

This year - Danger was dominating and no attempts at all to stop him from Ginni. No mongrel acts at all. No chicken wing, squirrel grip, coat hanger. Nothing.

I was very disappointed in the lack of any attempts at a Chris Judd-esque "pressure point"

well there weren't any calls to return to the days of eddie.... but I feel the tension between the fanbase and the fly. Let's face it, he's a wimp and the antithesis of the type of coach that we want and need.

personally, I think the tenuous bond that the fly has to the magpie army is going to break when we collapse in the finals - and I know the fly will try to escape scrutiny by using all that syrup of how he loves the army. I think we know by now that the passionate pie fan in the game day thread will see through all the smooth-talk and the faithful will be asking for the fly to be zapped....
