We have to find someone that wants our pile of dirty laundry for a new shirt though. GC will have some really good offers on the table for pick 4. Maybe Dogs want to exchange their second round pick to use on Croft for some junk time picks. Who else needs points?
Funny part is that all have interest according to the journos.

So maybe it’s not that bad.

It'll be interesting to see how we try and play next year. Ross spoke about stoppage and connectivity as our two main concerns. Presumably, Dow will be seen as supporting our stoppage issues and Henry our connectivity. The game style in itself will be interesting though. We were very big on the uncontested mark style this year. I think that's probably the best approach we could do with the players we have, but it'll be interesting to see if we move towards a lower possession approach.

Sharing this as its bullshit. But I hope sanders is in the open draft…

And that they probably get gifted late firsts early seconds and that’s probably Hunter Clark’s price range

I don't think it will change much. Our current game plan with a midfield that wins or breaks even at stoppage and with better delivery inside 50 would look pretty good.

We were already the number one ranked team at chaining together possession from the back half to the forward half. It was the final delivery that hurt us. Maybe we need to get our high half-forwards to not quite push back as deep and give us a few more targets when delivering the ball into attacking positions.

A few OOC still

Byrnes
Campbell
Clark
Coffield
Gresham
Highmore
Jones
DMac
Stocker
Webster

I reckon Highmore would be worth retaining as cheap insurance, we should have plenty of list space. Can't see Dmac or Jones getting another contract.
Um, Sinn and a F4.
Sinn is injury prone..Nas played every game this year & hasn’t missed a beat!

Our backline was exposed because of our poor pressure up the ground.
Not much the defenders can do when it comes in that quick from transition.
We had poor pressure up the ground all season but had the best defence in the league.
Second time we had more than 90 kicked on us was in the final.

Henry has been largely dogshit at Freo bar his last 3 months.

Clark whilst not spectacular played 19 games for a side who played finals

And has performed on the finals stage for us prior.

You can see why we wanted a first round pick last year and thought that was a fair price - which is roughly what he would have been valued at in that pick 3 for Clark + 9 deal.

Considering freos opening gambit according to the media is wanting our pick 12.
This comes down to bad development & no belief by the coaching staff, i think you'll find Henry form improved after we came knocking on the door.

I don't know if I am the only one, but reading Liam Stocker's latest Instagram post gives me the tiniest feeling that he might not be at the club next year. Very likely that I am reading too much into the caption.

I think it definitely needs to change. We’ve seen it year after year, the uncontested mark style game doesn’t stand up in finals because it’s too easily taken away. When teams took that away from us we had no answer and our record was abysmal. That’s why I’m selfishly hoping Mini doesn’t get the job at Richmond and comes to us to give us some of that chaos magic.

Huh? Sounds like a bloke who’s life and career just did a 180 in 12 months and he is grateful for it

liamstocker
Funny how long 12 months is. Thanks for the best year saints fans.

Saints gave it a ❤️ so hopefully it's nothing. I agree that it does read a bit like that.

The stupid thing would be sending a player in for surgery when the situation is controllable and in the clubs hand.

It couldn’t get worse. So it’s better to have the warm body around in case the side chasing a finals position loses its Key backs to freak injuries. Then it’s next man up.

Is it a likely scenario? No
But it’s the path you take when you’re chasing a finals berth.

If we were dead in the water outside the 8. Heaps of the boys would have been done and dusted. King included
Van Ess was in a moon boot with a stuffed ankle , he was never going to play AFL this year

Hunter Clark closes in on a new saints deal HSun

Wonder how the value of Hunter Clark and Dylan Stephens differs.
