Only makes sense trading Worps if we get big overs for him.

We all know his ball use isn’t the greatest but he does a lot of work in the contest for us.

I can see all of Ward and CMac x2 ending up better players than him. I don’t see them being as valuable to us in the short term though, as their contested and centre square work needs improving to match it with the best where Worps can do that already.

I think that if the move comes, it may be next year. It will be Worp's Pre Free Agency year and Sam will have a better view of how CMac x 2, Ward and Hustwaite are progressing. It will also be the year that Sam has already indicated that we would look to trade and look at free agents. Getting a decent pick back would help in those trades.

North will, in all their negligence, offer something so ridiculous. I can see it. AFL will be ready with more picks next year.
The only offers that tops our 3+f1 or 3+gun player is 2+3.

But first lets see if North land 3. Been hours since the papers were lodged and no word from AFL. Wonder what is cooking.

They were quick to offer compo for Dodee move. 30 mins btw these 2 tweets.

they havent even put out the tweet for the paperwork being lodged which they normally do then the team has their timeframe to match

Dodo certain he clicked send?

Jesus that's a generous pick.

The compensation regime is utterly busted at this point - offering nothing close to fair/market value , hence why no clubs bother to even match anymore.

Based off this pick given, basically a shoe-in Norf get Pick 3.

They won't announce the compo until the other team has confirmed whether they are matching or not and they have up to 72 hours for that.

I'm not 100% sure if Essendon have put the paperwork in yet (they said they would today) but when they do, the longer the wait is the better IMO. Sounds like if it's Pick 3 compo they'd just instantly declare they aren't matching but if it's Pick 19 they'll be deliberating whether to or not (even though you'd think they'd also know that already).

I don't mind one dimensional players if they are elite are what they do.

Prefer that to players who are just average across multiple positions.

And for all the talk of a glut of inside mids there are few true elite inside mids and plenty of clubs (including Geelong) would love a player like Worps.

I agree he would be a great fit for Geelong but I see absolutely no reason to sell him for a half eaten pack of Salt and Vinegar chips like we did with Mitchell (and Lewis, Hodge, S Mitchell, etc).

We did clear Mitchell out to get worps a good run at it

Suns have to talk up that position, but realistically they want his $400k for the next 2 years off their books. They'll fold like a cheap deck chair.

Happy to keep Kosi if Richmond don't come to the table. Offered him a contract - if Richmond don't offer what we want, surely we could convince him to resign with us rather than risk the draft / PSD.

Yup forcing players who don't want to play for you into a new contract is a genius list management strategy.

Pick 48 wouldn't be the worst outcome for Kosi. By the time all the bidding picks get used up for those with academy picks it'll be a bit higher than pick 48 and have some decent points attached for McCabe.

A third for Kosi is good enough.

GCS are bluffing with Chol. If they want to play hardball then they can keep him and pay him. We can just feed games to Ramsden. IMO they will relent and accept a late pick that will help them with their bids on their Academy prospects.
Chol is structurally useful but not essential. We shouldn't be capitulating to excessive demands. If Kosi goes for pick 48 (Richmond's R3), we should go:

Hawks: Chol, pick 36
GC: Pick 31, 48

Chol is not wanted by GC

Missing out on Harley Reid will make it very easy to go after Bailey Smith. lol
