Would there be anything stopping us fielding a team in the SANFL as well? One that is filled with no AFL-listed players, and built from our returned junior and country zones?

Money and the SANFL clubs. They wont want a 9 team comp.

They also wouldn’t want to surrender the modified zones they got when we gave ours up. And my personal #1 reason why we shouldn’t field a standalone SANFL side is because we stand nothing to gain from it, while also sacrificing our own identity by having our 3rd rate side wearing our proper guernsey.

According to news.com, it's a "bombshell" now! I would have thought it has been well telegraphed by the club (Koch)!

Are they suggesting my 100 years with the Magpies, and collection of John Wood history books will spontaneously combust once we leave the sanfl? How do you kill history? It's already happened.

people need to let go any attachment they feel towards the sanfl. The original plan in 1990 was to leave and enter the AFL lock stock and barrel. They were right then and keeping a presence in the sanfl for the last 26 years has caused nothing but division and compromise. It's given our enemies ammunition to attack us and try to deny our identity.

lol suck shit sanfl.

If we go, the crows will follow no way they’ll stick around.

And both afl clubs gone that league will be on its death bed. They’ll limp along for a little bit while the last of the old generation that grew up with their dads taking them to games die/ become too old / immobile to support the league.

The gap between Div 1 ammons and sanfl will be paper thin really.

the only thing saving them is the crooked extortion deals they’ve made in the past.

It worked for Germany. When they joined NATO the holocaust didn't happen.

The media is already talking about who will replace Port and the crows in the sanfl. Period of grieving is done it seems.

Didn't you know that history ceases to have occurred once someone wishes it to be so.

All our trophies and flags will disintegrate into atoms, and references to any great players and successes will vanish from print media and video recordings instanttly, just as when Thanos clicked his fingers and half the universe was no more.
