Rowe has spoken to port and sanfl. They are still there until 2028. Unless an afl reserves happens. Port met with afl to try and get reserves comp started for 2025.
Rowe is a peanut and an Sanfl sympathizer.

I really doubt the club or the AFL for that matter would tell that Asshat diddly-squat:)

The funniest reading is all the crows blow-ins bleating about Port having bled the sanfl dry then running away.

Tell you what, let the sanfl repay us all the money they took in from us every week we played at home and we'll pay back the couple of so-called handouts we received and we'll finish well ahead. Arseclowns.

Unbelievable. Given the demise of the SANFL in recent times and the decrease in crowd numbers 8 teams is probably about right.

The old Port 'abandons the SANFL' line rears it's head again. Shades of 1990. As I see things we are not abandoning the SANFL but rather we are being forced out by the SANFL's draconian restrictions on the freedom to run our Club.

Meanwhile across on the main board we have all these Victorian arm chair experts giving us their version of the SANFL/ Port agreement. These idiots have no idea.

And where is the new building being built….

The SANFL as a comp will have a dead cat bounce next year as all the oldies who haven't schlepped it to a game since that abomination was borne from a courtroom, will pine to re-live the glory days and rejoice in a comp free from the one side who relegated them to obscurity for eternity.

It will then cease to be an afterthought and die the death it so richly deserves.

The members voted in the mid 90s to leave the SANFL and join the AFL. The clean split is overdue. No 3rd tier SANFL side needed draining club funds.

As for the SANFL, always said, it should be the new Div 1 ammos after we leave, with relegation and promotion.

If 2024 is our final year, I'd almost trade the AFL premiership for an SANFL premiership in that year and then walk off to the VFL.
I'm sorry but this is exactly what we shouldn't bother even considering as a thought. Winning a premiership in the best competition in the land is what we are about and the whole reason why we left the SANFL in the first place. An AFL flag is the best way to leave behind the SANFL, totally irrelevant to us and what really matters.

The SANFL will not allow that to happen.
We will not play finals.
Winning here is getting out of the relationship in one piece and not looking back while the Bipolar ex stripper with a meth habit that is the sanfl throws our stuff out the window.

The problem is the SANFL will still be half the SMA. As soon as we are out of that pissant competition we should be publicly demanding the government act to get them off (so 4 SACA, 2 Port, 2 Crows as the 8 on the SMA board).

The AFL should also be funding underage football in SA. Since Port lost all it's zones the state has been a wasteland for drafting. Sure SA never produced the numbers Vic did, but it was a regular pipeline of stars from SA, until the last 20 odd years, when it's been the SANFL 'developing' juniors.

The sanfl are dicks but it's a seriously tough situation that they're in trying to balance both us and the crows and at the same time appeasing the other teams.
Only real option is for us to get to the VFL asap but I'm one of the few that actually hopes the sanfl can still be a successful without our presence as I have way too many happy footy memories from the 80's to be hateful.
