The funny thing is if I was our coach you’d back me in because I was our coach. Your opinions stop at support club, club good.Send them your resume. Stubborn and can't coach are too separate opinion

Then you're stubborn. If everyone can see the obvious then don't you think him and the other senior coaches can as well?If you can't even select the rrght players then you can't coach.
Provided you can coach and not like Bolton.......The funny thing is if I was our coach you’d back me in because I was our coach. Your opinions stop at support club, club good.
Nick cares more about running and effort more than footballers. Because as a footballer murphys dogshit. Then you're stubborn. If everyone can see the obvious then don't you think him and the other senior coaches can as well?
The discussion is whether Nicks can coach not who is better. Hell, I'll have Hardwick right now instead of Nicks. This is such a bad take mate.
Just because someone (Nicks) is better than Joe Rando doesn't mean they get to stay in a pointy end job, when their flaws are so evident and appear insurmountable.
BTW, we nearly made the 8 despite Nicks.
You've seen Murphy run? He can't cover the ground efficiently.Nick cares more about running and effort more than footballers. Because as a footballer murphys dogshit
Well that's why he's in the side, effort. A bit like keays but he's not as useless. You've seen Murphy run? He can't cover the ground efficiently.
One of the biggest issues is that Nicks isn't a tactical or intelligent coach. Have been screaming from the mountain tops he was brought in to be the nice guy and rebuild the culture. He has done a fine job of this IMO, but to expect him to coach us to the next step is folly (without a senior assistant).
The biggest worry for me watching tonights game is that we have been figured out. Last year we were the highest scoring team and very bloody efficient (5th for inside 50's - #1 for goals).
Tonights debacle:
Inside 50's - 66. 11 goals. Inside 50's per goal - 6. Marks inside 50 - 9. Goal assists 7
(2023 - we averaged 54 Inside 50's,13.2 goals, 3.2 Inside 50's per goal, 13 marks inside 50, 9.8 goal assists.)
Extending the Nicks contract this early in the season has set the AFC board up to being the laughing stock of the comp if we don't play finals.
What was the rush in signing him anyway? Was it to spare the players the uncertainty going forward?
The footy world media will have a field day if this zip and 2 start doesn't improve.
Our transition from defence was too slow. Not enough dare through the middle which made it easy for Geelong to defend. Our playmakers from defence Milera and Smith were shutdown. 0-2 is not good but definitely salvageable. A quick turnaround in form wouldn't surprise me. Tonight we did look slow and unusualy lethargic at times so who knows how much that Gold Coast game took out of them in those heavy conditionsMy impression is the board genuinely felt finals were around the corner and the trajectory was proving this. So probably some Nicks bath water drinking board members pushed for the contract to be extended because rumour has it the players could be distracted from playing well.
It may end well but damn, its hard to believe it will right now.

The AFC board has been the laughing stock of the AFL for the past decade.
Nothing much has changed under Olsen.

Nice guy - they usually do ok but dont climb mountains. They pack the gear for the bloke who does.
This is why the re-signing was wrong in my opinion. I feel he has taken us as far as possible. Its time for the finisher
There should have been a backroom deal where we have already signed the finisher for next year and Nicks is a senior assistant
You know the good guy mate that the players go to to complain about the mean ole coach - who gets them a Premiership medallion
Geelong had a very easy night in the coaches box as they controlled how we played. You are dead right about slow transition and no dare. It was repeated kick up the line stuff to a contest..always to a contest and geelong just controlled the contest too. Stewart had a field day as the ball kept being kicked to his area and there was no real attempt to play a defensive forward with any height on him.Our transition from defence was too slow. Not enough dare through the middle which made it easy for Geelong to defend. Our playmakers from defence Milera and Smith were shutdown. Scott gave Nicks a bath in the box
I told chief we need a reactionView attachment 1936659
So Plan B was "Stewart is so good that even if we put someone on him he could still impact the game, so just don't put anyone on him at all and let him dictate everything in our forward line"?
If I had to choose between living in Melbourne or Adelaide I'd pick Adelaide, but I wouldn't pick either over where I currently liveAnd both would rather live in Melbourne.
I know we tried to get Ben Rutten home after Essendon sacked him.
He preferred to stay in Melbourne, go back to Richmond on less money than we offered him.
His family set up there.
Look at WCE/Freo/Port assistant coaches. The common theme is as I stated. Lived (born in) in the State beforehand or churned out of the Victorian assistant coaching carousel.
So, would you live in Adelaide aka West Horsham? Or would it only take a big bundle of cash to get you here?
