He and Drew changed the game in the 3rd quarter with a bit of help from Ee-varn.

I would say that Rozee is the intelligence and thrust of the team and that Butters is the heart and soul of the team.

The goal by Finny was completely set up by Butters doing the dirty work. He can get his hands muddy but also trounce them with his skills going forward.

I think they both make excellent leaders of the club and seem to complement each other well as leaders but also as players in the midfield.

Port Adelaide is very lucky to have both of them.

One thing i've liked from butters so far is his goal kicking and score creations. Kicked a goal in both games albeit one from a 50m penalty and the other against west coast. But on top of this he had 3 direct goal assist. Great scoring influence in both games so far

Rewatched the first half this morning and the way Butters' grins whenever he lays a big tackle, or vice versa.

It's downright diabolical, it looks like he gains energy from it

Reckon it was close to his best game for the year.
Only a handful of times that he overdid the twists/turns/excessive bounces that he normally does which throws team mates completely out of sync.

yeah i agree with you, his second best of the season,Richmond game is a tad better

I've lost count of the number of times he's taken possession in congestion and gone to bounce the ball with a player on his heels and I've thought "You're fecked here Zac" only for him to zag and pull away. He's a magnificent bustard.

geez 17 touches 5 clearecnes and 5 inside 50's in the last qtr. great signs that our step in captain can do this when the game was dead, to bring us back singlehandly in the last qtr and lead us to victory, he would admit his three first qtrs were below his standard, to come back like that is extrodinary

He was bad early and that was mainly because he was trying to do too much with **** all support. Big feather in cap to turn it around and great that he just kept trying to take game on

Just love his approach to the game. His first instinct is to take the game on. He takes a mark and he’s off and running looking for the right option upfield. Many team mates after taking a mark look in slow motion in comparison.

And he’s tough as. Puts his body on the line game after game.

He’s so good to watch.
