AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
He had one good quarter, the first. Went missing for the rest of the match until injured.surprised how low his stats were. huge presence.
hope hes all right though. absolute carnage every time the ball went anywhere near him.
Yeah I'm coming round to this. Its hard to say cos our forward transition is poor but he needs a few a bags by the end of the year to make it worthwhile up forward.He had one good quarter, the first. Went missing for the rest of the match until injured.
Persist with him forward for the rest of 2024 because if it works it will be great.
But I think it more likely that chom ends up offering us far more in defence.

Someone said wrist on the broadcast. Hopefully it’s fine. With how he plays, his body appears absolutely higher risk as a forward.Does anyone know what injury he has?
So Corr and DeKoening both get injured playing defence and that is what we are going with?2nd game forward and he gets injured. If that's not reason enough to move him back.
Yeah, this is what I was saying.
I know this isn't fair because the opponents matter and we've played very good sides recently, but all the same I think there's a lot of relevancy in these stats;
Since the win against West Coast (8 games ago now);
In 6 games with Comben in defense, we averaged a score differential of -14.5
In 2 games with Comben in attack, we have averaged a score differential of -29.5
Early days, but we're clearly missing that intercepting contested marker in defense.
Stephenson was ok in the first quarter and a half. As soon the cats put pressure on he collapsed like a blancmange.Dermie and King both also said today they thought Jaidyn Stephenson played a good game despite a few turnovers.
I wouldn't put a lot of stock into a commentator's analysis one way or another.
I dunno about that.Those two contested marks at CHF over Stewart are worth more to the team than the 5 intercepts that Logue got anyway.
I dunno about that.
He averages just over seven intercepts a game, half intercept marks.
So another five intercepts would have helped yesterday. His two contested marks resulted in one goal but his intercept marking and spoiling is probably worth more than one goal per game.
He probably needs 15-20 goals in these last 6 games to make his value to the side worth what we lose with him on the backline. So far he has three goals and there are only four games left.

One of them was a goal the other was up the ground late in the quarter and we didn't score later.I think Logue has been doing just as good a job in the role. 9 intercepts yesterday. It's not like Charlie would just be a +7 on top of that as the roles would be a bit different.
I also don't think his two contested marks resulted in just one goal. Having someone capable of contesting like he does changes the dynamic considerably and makes us more of a threat even when he's nowhere near it.
I'm not against him playing the rest of the season forward but he has to kick shitloads of goals to provide as much value as he does down back.Defence is playing well right now, I don't think Charlie is a massive loss or can't be replaced. Just as his CM up forward doesn't mean he is a gun forward. He is imposing up forward, that much is for sure. We should be looking to see what that can do.
Let's not do Majak Mk.2.

He averaged over three a game last year.Larkey only averages 2 goals a game, I don't think we should measure Charlie that hard. Let's see how the forward line functions over the next month. I think the structure sucks right now so finger crossed we get a decent strategist in there.
I'm not sure 2.5 goals a game is the correct metric for a player that has played about 10 games in the position in his entire career.He averaged over three a game last year.
Chom plays the last six games at CHF. Needs to average 2.5 (so 15 -18/20) goals for that period or our forward line suddenly needs to be five goals a game better. Otherwise he's a better player down back.
That's all there is to it.
I don't think we should measure Charlie that hard
That depends. Do you want us to win games or just **** around scratching our arses? Larkey's output this season is 50% lower than his output last season. He needs to be better.
