He’s coming along so well, Jack. Still looks like he is growing into his body, still- but he’s not 21 until December so I think another preseason or two and he will be able to really impose his size.

But what I have appreciated is his game sense. He moves really well and his mind is working pretty quick for a big guy. Which is really all you can ask for at this point in his career as a tall.

A big positive on this year and I think a more natural FWD/Ruck option than Bailey is. So it will be an interesting preseason, especially if we do get English to the club as I think there is only room for one.

Will be interesting to see how Jack and Archer Reid both fit.
it’s a good headache to have tbh. Jack Will have all of 2025 to cement his spot and Archer just has to build on his recent WAFL form and push his way into the side. Also Livingston also going well.

It takes young key forwards aa few years to do so but once Jilliams has full confidence of his body he’s going to be a bit of a beast too. He’s lost all that puppy fat now but he also looks quite powerful.

Jye having a bit of a stinker, something clearly amiss.

He slid and a lot of recruiters thought he wouldn't make it because he was primarily a CHF who lacked athleticism. From memory (i've just gotten off the last of 3 flights) he tested at 195cm in boots that year as well. So the whole ruck/forward thing wasn't really on the cards then.

He's grown 4cm since being drafted and worked really, really hard on just doing all the basics as well as he can. He looks like he'll make a very good ruck forward. Has come a long way further than I thought he would but if not for those extra 4cm it would be an interesting call.

Smart player and gets to the right spots but if we are going to have defensive liabilities as a club we really need to focus on small forwards who apply pressure as well.

Well said.

Of course there would be valid reasons he slid so far, and it's a real testament to his work ethic, and the development staff of the Eagles to get him to where he is now.

When you think of how crap our WAFL side has been it is extra impressive.

This may be a dumb question... but is there different development coaches for different lines? Like a forwards development coach, mids development coach etc? We seem to be a lot better at developing key position players than midfielders.

I’ve just had that argument with in the trade draft thread. Seems our small fwds are fine according to some.

3rd highest rated key forward aged 21 and under.

In a team with low inside 50s. Absolute Gun

Certainly promising and after watching how long it took Josh Kennedy to blossom, this kid has plenty of time yet to develop even though he probably doesn't have JK athleticism.

3 months older than Cadman but pretty happy with his stats seeing as he is pick 57 compared to Cadman's NO.1.
