Just trying to decide which would be worse:

(a) Swans lose to a kick after the siren;

(b) Katy Perry plays songs from her new album.

Tough call.

Bad news! Katy and the AFL are in a stoush. She wants to play 2 new songs but AFL (& I) want as close to zero as possible.
Ah well, if she gets her way its a good chance for us to go to the bar for a top-up. :beermug:

Weather for watching the GF in Sydney this saturday.

Yeah less than ideal.

Potential heavy rain.

*its going to rain Thursday too.

It can pour down senseless here so long as it doesn't in Melb

Lived near each other their whole lives but only crossed paths recently.

And every swans final seemingly as well.

You just knew it was gonna happen Friday night as it unfolded almost in slow motion and there was nothing you could do about it. Was comical.
Always seems to be Mccartin initiating those collisions. I rate his timing so i'll put it down to a complete lack of peripheral vision

You are being kind and very kind. Adelaide game yes was great, but was poor against Port (whole side was but still), meh against the Pies. Good in the last two, forgot the one against Essendon. 2 good games and he walks in, if he wasn't captain would he be near the side?
No he wouldn't. Not even close.
And he's not even a partlcularly good match up in defense on their speedy players.
If he comes in obviously we'll all be hoping and backing him....but if there's any risk at all in his hammy he shouldn't play IMO.

The endless Mills hypothesising on this thread is coming close to Plugger's Groin levels.

The 96 thread where LpNo1 was telling us Plugger did **** all in the last few games anyway , so let's go with Justin Crawford 😂

Well a certain coach has a history of playing injured players in Grand Finals. Lets hope he's learnt from the past though

Never a first up specialist Jmac was always going to be better for the run and a few extra weeks training load.
Needs to improve again on last week if we are to win.
His first game back was not good, last week was fine. Next up he has to be a real asset.
Capable of doing it. Lets hope he does.

100% still can improve but 19 possies and 5 involvements last week, people were forgetting just how good the bloke was in the first 2/3 of the year

Interesting part at the bottom of the article

Perry’s entertainment rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday — meaning the Lions will have to find somewhere else for their final major training session.

The club’s “captain’s run” — a light jog — will still take place on the MCG turf on Friday.

I think if Mills was an out and out match winner based on 2024 form like these 4 stars (Heeney/Warner/Gulden/Papley) then it would be worth the risk to play him if he and the medical team think he has recovered. He is not showing his AA 2022 form unfortunately, and there is adequate coverage and versatility there with Fox.

There are lots of old adages out there for Horse and the selection team to ponder.
  • Don’t change a winning team.
  • Don’t take injured players into the biggest game of the year.
Perhaps Mill’s greatest contribution as a captain and leader for the club is to rule himself out. It would be an incredibly selfless act and be one less distraction for the weekend.

Good luck Swans!!

Never a first up specialist ? what's that mean? just looking at playing on returns
from absences he usually gets 16-25 touches

The overlap run he gave was instrumental throughout the night….doesnt need to improve so much as not regress.
