How does Brisbane get Levi Ashcroft if he goes at pick one?

Their current picks only amount to like 1400pts. Pick 1 is 3000 pts. With 20% discount, that's still a deficit of like a thousand points. Would that mean they have to use their first future pick to cover the deficit, unless they can find another pick this year?

Trade there first for a bunch of seconds and the get close.

I’d like to turn 2, 22 and f2
Into

Hannaford - back up berry
Tarua - back up Travaglia
Armstrong/shanahan - back up a Whitlock

Then another KPP at 40 if not someone else with pace and skill

River a rookie spot
I'm in a similar boat. Split 2, and get F2 into this draft. Have 4 picks inside the top 30.

Look to take the following (assuming we can make the list spots work):

Pick 6: Harry Armstrong
Pick 12: Best available out of: Reid/Lalor/Travaglia/Lindsay
Pick 22: Hannaford or Berry
Pick 24: Gerreyn/M.Whitlock/Faull/Sims
Pick 40: O'Farrell or Mraz
Pick 58: Trade for Luke Parker
Pick 64: Trade for Jack Darling

Rookie 1: Pat Retcshko/Luca Greggo/Cody Anderson/Evan Bradley/Jasper Alger/
Rookie 2: Riley Bice/Jack Henderson/Dom Brew
Rookie 3: River Stevens

Trying to imagine what they might do.

Richmond probably won't use any late picks. 29 + 39 + 41 + 47 + 57 + 66 + 72 would get Brisbane close to what they need.

But Brisbane can't go into draft night with that many picks, given they won't have the free spots, right?

Armstrong and Shanahan seem to post very similar numbers. One at Coates level, the other at VFL level. I would have thought this would make Shanahan the better prospect of the two?
Yep this is a reason I have shanahan ahead as the best KPF and think he will impact earlier also in the afl

correct, but you can trade on draft night.

Do you have an example of which other club would be willing to trade down from pick 13 to two second round picks and why? Seems like an odd move.
A club that needs to match nga players next season - especially with the changes to matching coming in

You know what roos_fanatic08, throw in Taj Hotton into that pick 12 slot and Lenny Douglas into the rookie 2 spot and I'm getting into the life raft with you! :p

What's the knock on Sam Paella (jokes Paea) from Werribee? 193cm is he more the 3rd tall? Looked athletic.

Continuity and form. Has had had a few injury issues over the last 12-18 months. Only played 3-4 games this year I’m pretty sure. I wanted to rookie list him when he was in his top age year at the Calder cannons. Hasn’t really kicked the door down at VFL level yet, but he is still maturing physically.

Hey, wait a minute… that was serious

I would be going to GC and offering this pick swap.

They can use pick 2 to get ahead of the Lombard bid and send it to Richmond for Rioli & change, or they can use the pick from Lukosius to do a deal for Rioli and use pick 2 to grab another gun player - they have options.

6 - Armstrong or Shanahan
12 - Berry or a slider like Smillie perhaps?
20 - another gun KPP.
58 - Parker
64 - Darling
F3 - Garcia

With 3 x rookies to come.
