We aren't because we weren't.

Yes, we were thereabouts, and it's a credit to the boys, but yet again we fell over in a PF.

Our midfield is a problem, and on a broader level we're in a state of transition. That stops us from being the very best.

We're also being nobbled by the weight of equalisation. We've been fighting gravity for nigh on 20 years and have done a great job, but it's slowly taking its toll, as it's designed to do.

That we've stayed competitive despite all that is amazing.

Brisbane are peaking at the right time. Beating us gave them even more confidence. They are playing today like there is absolutely no tomorrow, running through any player in their way. We were cooked last week. Anyone who thinks we would have done this to Sydney today is dreaming about 22- we are NOT that team.
Besides, it's not over yet.

Any team in the 8 would have beaten Sydney today except maybe Carlton.
It’s over and the Swans have been humiliated yet again.
It’s a pattern for them and would have been smashed by half a dozen teams today. Brisbane are deserving winners but hardly an unstoppable force.

Players may well be wondering, but they wouldn't be stupid enough to think it would have been a stroll in the park. It's a tough game that can turn on one or two decisions or one or two clangers. Swans may well have been supercharged to get revenge on us for '22. Who knows?

Thing is in a blowout GF you have to weight the contributions, Lohmann was getting it done when the heat was in the game and was a big reason they built up this lead.

I think Ashcroft has been best on, but Lohmann should be a close second.

Yeah, same with Isaac Smith in 2022. Danger was a solid citizen all game but Isaac bobbed up in spectacular fashion early when it was needed.
