Here's a positive thought.

Richmond traded Daniel Rioli, 51, 61, F2

for

Josh Smillie & North's F1.
Should get a second rounder for Lmac then.

Just an extract on NM article titled "Five things to know about Matt Whitlock" for context

3. He's likely to line up on his brother in the near future

Having endured fierce battles in countless sports as young brothers on their 80-acre Shepparton family farm, it’s fitting that Matt – who was born two minutes after his twin - and Jack Whitlock will get to lock up on an AFL field some day in the near future. With both destined to have an impact at the highest level, it was a race to see who would be selected first on draft night. In the event, Matt edged the honours, becoming a Kangaroo with the final pick of the draft's opening night.

article makes think jack is very unlikely to end up here too.
Don’t think the footy department let the media team in on who we’re drafting

North trying to reignite the brother rule maybe . Apart from trading our next five yrs of future firsts what else are we likely to trade to get another pick this yr ? One of next yrs future seconds ?

I'm not sure the recruiters brief the crew writing the website articles on their plans.

Friday morning, angry digital media rep slams fist on Will Thursfield's table "we went to print saying the Whitlocks would play on each other, how do you expect us to pull this back with our disenfranchised readership now??"

Just remember picks can be sold for cap space next year I am sure we will get back in first round with this
I had to reply to laugh for full effect. We couldn’t sell life rafts on the Titanic last night.

WTF makes you think that futures from two years hence can be traded in by North? Or that we could use our obese cap space to buy picks?

The AFL and big clubs will deal amongst themselves for the opportunity and feast on the small for sport.

Not having a future first in 2025 is choking you inside isn't it?..

Draft time is your time to shine, the BF faithful gathering around and hanging off your every draft word like Jesus giving out free advice to his disciples..

The days of early first round picks are going fast and once our kids get another 30+ games into them our first rounders will be 14 onwards.. looks like you'll have to get a real job now.

Come on man you're going way too far in the other direction now.

heck, the double F2 trade! People will lose their minds. It's already gotten over personal in here today.

Edit: I typed heck, not heck. Potato.

Edit 2: I'm not calling anyone a potato, I'm just seeing if that changes too.

The old F2 squared, that will get draft thread humming.

So, if we have a player ranked at 18 available at Pick 75, should we trade a F2 for it because of that?

Obviously not...but if what has been stated & we were trying all & sundry from pick 10 onwards to get back in & assuming it was for the same player or player type....only the number has changed & @ some stage that went from F1 for 10 - F1 for 11 - F1 for 12 etc to finally F1 for 27 & F2 so the longer it took to get back in the better the result we had.

This is an assumption but all that happened was the number changed not the player...or certainly not the type of player.

I dont love or hate the trade & lm happy to have a list need covered now. But its not terrible as it turns out F1 for 12 would have been worse & people would have felt ok with that.
Richmond finish last next year the F2 is quite valuable as we may find out tonight to see what they may get for that (agree the left over pool may not be as enticing as this years for that pick but its still a great pick) or if we also trade that in with another to get something else tonight.

Inability to transition effectively beyond HF.

We will improve with Darling present and Teakle improving but it will still be our Achilles heel.
With our gun mids streaming forward passing to a forwardline of Larks, Bull, Darling, Durs, Curtis, Parker and Simpkin, I think there is sufficient firepower to do damage.
