I reckon he will play the most of our draftees next year, could be a Smokey for a Rising Star.
Sam will be a gun but I reckon Smillie will be pretty prominent in year 1.
only if he can improve his physicality

Smillie hasn't even completed his first week at the club yet and based on a tid bit from a training report and some highlights on YouTube you're suggesting he could become a superstar.Pointing out a load of positives about a player we should be excited about doesn’t render you, as a reader, unable to remain critical and measured. You’re not a baby. Acknowledging superstar potential doesn’t mean I’ve labelled him a superstar—potential exists before it’s delivered in games; that’s why it’s called ‘potential.’
I agree with you to an extent but let people be excited. We aren't going to have much to be excited by when it comes to results for the next few years so let people believe in some hype around the new kids we got.Smillie hasn't even completed his first week at the club yet and based on a tid bit from a training report and some highlights on YouTube you're suggesting he could become a superstar.
I get it's based on potential but as I said there have been countless players who've shone when first hitting the track only to fail to deliver when the games are played.
Quite frankly I'd be disappointed not to read that top 10 draftees are quite clean ball handlers and have very good basic skills on the training track, that's a given hence their draft position.
So all I'm saying is that instead of hyping the kid up as a potential superstar less than a week after being drafted, maybe, just maybe we let them settle in to the club and wait until they start producing when it matters.

Nothing to do with taking away someones happiness. You can be excited about a draftee without handing out the potential superstar tag.I agree with you to an extent but let people be excited. Will they live up to the hype? Probably not, but they could and I've never been an advocate of taking someones happiness away.
Had he been presented with the 2025 brownlow yet? No point messing around and waiting for the whole year. Get it done AFL. Will look great hanging on top of his all Australian jacket, which hopefully has enough pockets to store his rising star and coaches award too
Mate, we are all just some plebs on Bigfooty. If people wanna hype up a draftee and have a bit of fun with it, let them.Nothing to do with taking away someones happiness. You can be excited about a draftee without handing out the potential superstar tag.
And I'm well aware that there hasn't been much to get excited about over the last 12 months and probably won't be for the next 24 months, like I said maybe wait until we see them in games before handing out labels.
If that makes me a grinch then ao be it. It's just my thoughts.
Are you suggesting that unless I'm going to blow a load over a player I can't share an opinion?Mate, we are all just some plebs on Bigfooty. If people wanna hype up a draftee and have a bit of fun with it, let them.
It's really not that deep.
Look guys he finally got it!!Are you suggesting that unless I'm going to blow a load over a player I can't share an opinion?
