If CD was seriously pumped when talking about our minor round results, and they showed that slide. I'm pretty sure I would've laughed immediately, out loud, if asked why I laughed, my question would be "where in your table is the number of minor premierships? You know why it is not there, because the results in the minor round just don't matter"


This obsession we have with consistency, creates this minor round success, not because we're a great side, but because we find enough ways to pinch enough games vs our inconsistent opposition . When the pressure, the intensity, the X factor steps up in finals, our consistency gets caught out as not enough to get results.

I'd rather stop kidding ourselves with consistency and let the results just fall as they may, show us where we truly stand and let us make the real change needed to give us a chance of actually doing something. Instead of kidding ourselves that we were actually close last year when in reality we were a country mile off.

Someone should tell them that the reason we do so well in H&A games but fail in finals is that our Supreme Commander Daddy trades off player development and future success for wins on the board now, which only benefits him and his contract negotiations.

He refuses to give second tier development players games during the season because this will put his W/L record at risk. This then means we get to the point end of the year with banged-up/injured senior players and no properly developed players to step into their place.

Lycett and Hayes/Visentini is a prime example of this.
Dixon and Lord is another.

The first Friday of December was usually the date of the AGM before Koch changed it to February.

I doubt more than a couple of dozen people missed the AGM because they were at the cricket.

I should have went even though I have never been to one previously. It was a long week at work and a bit mentally fried to attend. Interesting to see if Richo does another CEO dinner in the near future.

It just had a bit of a whiff of them wanting it snuck through to the keeper. Buried away in the news cycle and public interest distracted with other things.

A bit of a whiff might be a touch undersated. Chosen date was absolutely orchestrated by the club to minimise fallout. Have zero respect for the tossers. Our role is to keep the pressure on at games & get these losers out of our club.

I don't have that much of an issue with Connor Rozee coming across a little bit timid at an AGM. Honestly, he would know that the supporters are pissed so he probably went in to it with a lot of anxiety about the questions he would be asked and how he would come across. He is probably aware he has become a bit of whipping boy too.

He isn't super confident around the media or public but I would suspect that Connor is far more comfortable and confident around the playing group. He probably got thrust in to the job a year or two too early and maybe in hindsight Wines for a 2 or 3 years may have been better until Rozee or Butters were ready but he is in the role now and i think it is far too early to be super critical, a lot of the criticism i think is harsh.

But the key thing is he was there, he fronted up the the AGM even though he was uncomfortable about it unlike his daddy.

Appreciated that he did front & he gave a good insight into his captaincy which I appreciated. Think he won some more respect for that. But from a more broad perspective, the failure of the club to develop strong leaders since Special K arrived is no coincidence. They either don't have that strong mental toughness/mongrel or they aren't good enough footballers.

Being timid in front of the AGM and media I think is probably a fear of public speaking, particularly in the context of the AGM rather than anxiety around the questions he would get asked. Because he's not standing up at the ending taking questions without notice from members, he's standing there getting the slowest pre-prepared softball questions that Daniel Norton can manage. Some people just aren't confident speakers when there's a crowd.

There is a difference between defending your coach and drinking the Ken-Aid.

The entire playing group is infected with this sentiment (regardless of if they say it or not). It all starts at the top, and when your captain is coming out with tripe like 'love him like a father' its any wonder why we continually and consistently fail under the bright lights, because the whole place runs off the emotional roller-coaster of 58 year old child.

Yes, I would. Because that's realistic in the modern era and the failure to achieve that goal means there's no easy way out. Right now this club is so toxic and it's excuse for who's going to be held accountable for the 3 flags in 5 years plan is that the goal itself was always unattainable so we don't see it as a failure

Richo actually explained on Friday night what he meant by the 3 flags in 5 years comment. My head is still spinning - RussellEbertHandball can you remember what he said, because I've got no idea.
