He hasn't performed better then Naughton has to date.
Naughtons 4th season 2021 is better then Jamarahs 4th year 2024.
And Naughton didn't have the support then that Darcy and JUH have in large thanks to Naughton.

And Naughton is a pack buster, Jamarah is different in his approach.

Jamara is far more threatening up forward. And a better shot on goal.

If an oppo coach could choose one to be unavailable to coach against, they’d choose Jamara every time.

English is on big coin. But they lost Smith, McCrae and Daniels who were on big coin. I personally think it is hard to judge how tight their cap is because they lost a lot of players on big coin.

They’d have known and been planning around Smith leaving for a good 12 months, and he was out of contract, so it wasn’t so much shedding a contract with him as his was already done. Macrae and Daniel are interesting ones, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were paying some of Daniels contract in particular given the unexpectedly good trade return they got for him.

Regardless though I still think their cap will be looking exceptionally tight. Darcy will be getting monstrous offers from other clubs and although the dogs won’t need to match them, they’ll still have to stump up an exceptionally large deal to retain him. I don’t think they’d be in a position to match a band 1 offer for Richards tbh.

Naughton is underrated because of his kicking. He is one of the hardest working tall forwards in the game and covers more ground then 95% of them. He would be perfect for us because of his pressure and work rate. Aa good as JUH could be I would prefer Naughton if I could pick one.

Imo JUH lead and Mark style game is much easier to plan for then Nuaghton who is both capable on lead and as a contested marking pack buster.

Not full time though, as a DEF/MID, he’s definitely good enough to be a full time onballer, problem is Treloar and Libba can’t play any other position….

Naughton played immediately but he was played as a defender in his first year, so his goal average is actually even better than his numbers would suggest.

Despite his lengthy tenure in red and white, Parker senses a shift in club priorities at the Swans and signalled it could be a broader theme across the AFL when it came to long-serving players who could find themselves shifting unexpectedly in the future.

“I probably always had in my head that I’d be a one-club player, but these days things do change really quickly and clubs go in a different direction,” he said.

“That is going to happen more and more these days. I think it will be very rare to see a one-club player as they get over the 12 to 13-year mark.”
Parker, a former co-captain at the Swans, multiple best and fairest winner and a premiership player in 2012, said he sensed a long way out that the club was moving in a different direction, one that likely did not include him.

“It probably wasn’t until this year or halfway through,” Parker said on SEN Breakfast.

“For me, it was basically that I started to feel that the club or certain things were heading in a new direction. The club has got to do what is best for the club, and I can fully understand that.

This is what happened with Adams with us I reckon too. He sensed a shift.
