dont usaully post on opposition boards, but ithought the effort put in by the saints was soft, i thought you would give us a real contest, but the real saints came out to play, no heart , no desire to win a hard ball, no willingness to chase , dont hang your hat on a pre lim final loss your top...
got to say this has been a great thread, even though i was in my teens for most of the Eighties I have only been to the 91 grand final, remember being right behind the goals when the freak morrissey kicked a torp on the run for a goal.
the next day at Glennferrie oval was one of the best days i...
Agree with the goal kicking could of had the game totally closed up at half time, i know we where 40 odd points up but remember the saints game, missing set shots from 30 out in front could prove costly, butsayingthat we still won by 10 goals.
must get rid of the costly turnovers coming out of...
great game, got under the dogs radar, they blanketed Williams in the belief he is the dangerous small forward, ossie has a bit of agro as well dosent mind getting the tough ball.
Loved the way Rioli carved up Aker, the bloke is a tool and past his best but he is still a good footballer and Junior gave him a touch up with sheer pace and skill, goal assists are just as good as scoring them yourself.
Renouf showed what a mobile big footballer is capable of
stokes quite...
while i think Taylor has done a good job all year he is not a natural footballer like Renouf, Robbie can do the crash bang job and Brent almost plays a ruck rover game around the ground, while Brent makes some mistakes, Taylor has made some bad clangers which you cant afford in finals,
losing Gilham meant that Browny might of had to go back to play tall and Stokes has a lot more pace to put forward pressure on the bulldogs run out of defence,Ellis was unlucky though.
Re: if the AFL make saturday night ticketed
am going a s a guest of some Carlton members , i might not get out alive when Buddy tons up and we beat the blues.
moss -gone traded to the west
boyle - will be put up for trade
mcentee- will be put up for trade
young - a chance to be traded
dawson- GONE
dowler - will be considered for the right offer (think back to croad who would of thought we would of traded him)
kennedy 50/50 if he stays
murphy -...
a list of players who going missing when the heat is on ; Medhurst, Davis, Fraser,O'brien, Brown, O,Bree, the pasty irishman, Byron, Waklin(at least he pulled out and saved the embarssment)and that is the reason they wont make the 8
i think we really needed Dew and Crawf on the park ,you cant beat experience, even though Crawf didnt get a lot of it he was in the right spots and also directed blokes to the right spots. get a few games in a row for Dew and he will be a game breaker come finals.
Dowler may get his chance is in pretty good touch for Box Hill, could add a bit more varitey for clarko, we needed another tall last night in defence, if needed roughy could go down back and dowler forward or buddy on the ball
couldnt agree more with this thread, also we do not give enough respect to opposition sides lower string players ,blake kicking 3 goals ( i know 1 was a gift) but he should not be playing AFL let alone cutting us up in 10 minutes of footy
the zone defence is good when it is working but as soon as a team gets on top of it clarko needs a plan B or C,its a bit like when he played zac he was to stubborn to admit the boy was not up to senior footy yet, instead of dropping him early he has most likely ruined his career. i love the way...
thanks red white and blue ,i like to think of myself as a smart football supporter who barracks for hawthorn. got a soft spot for the dogs though Brad Johnson would have to be my favorite non hawk.
looked super impessive the cats today next week will hopefully be a game worth the hype , i just wonder if rocket eade left his A game in the bag today, they are a cert to finish top 4. nice to see the Geelong football club give the young fan some tickets after the AFL shafted the young fella...
interesting to see supporters of teams that are going to finish bottom 4 slagging off at the dogs, just a bad day against quality opposition, dont write them off, did rocket eade keep his A game in the bag???
correct me if i am wrong with the player but 'Nigel Smart?' punching the living 5hit out of that flog Scott Cummins,
also last years final when Buddy nailed that goal is a pretty special highlite for me
talking to is brother at work andhe says Beau is loving the wing looks like he is interested in playing good footy, could slot in on the wing and pinch hit foward and back, but who would make way?
