Earlier in the year I stated that I hoped the core of this midfield would all click together at some stage, I reckon today was the first time we truly saw it: Day, Duke, Worps and Nash, all over 25 possies, and all had big impact. Just beautiful.
I feel like he would seriously shore up our backline, with Blancky to come back next year, Sic roaming, Scrim in ripping form, Weds, Dimma, Jars etc etc. starts to look very strong.
Give Lewis til after the big road trip I reckon, the forward line's actually been functioning perfectly well without him.
(Don't get me wrong, I like Mitch a lot and want to see him back in the side soon)
That was brilliant, very insightful.
My favourite part was when he was reeling out name after name of excellent players, or at least potentially excellent players, who CAN’T get a game at senior level. That very, very exciting.
I know it's pretty unlikely that we snag both, but imagine if we added Baz and Battle to this side for next year? One or the other would be great (assuming Baz gets healthy again).
One can dream, can't one?
The point you were making was that our forward line isn't very potent, and those scorelines absolutely prove otherwise. Unless you are now attempting to actually argue semantics?
Our last four final scores...
97, 85, 107, 100.
Extremely potent for a side that started 0-5 and was sitting bottom four.
Our forward line is just fine, thanks. The only question is, will Mitch improve it at all? (and I like him a lot)
I dislike bye week very much.
And has it come at a bad time for us, ie when we had great momentum going?
I'm sure the players are appreciating it however...
Our list has somehow gone from 'one of the worst in the league' and an example of how hard and long rebuilds are, to an absolute embarrassment of riches in a few months....
