The post from the OP sounds like the sort of thing Robbo would say. Restraint of trade, let them play where they want to and nominate as many or as few clubs as they like, even none ;)
I couldn't care less whether they dominate or not, just whether they are in the SANFL or not. I don't go to their exhibition games and I don't take them seriously. When the competition starts taking itself seriously then I'll take it seriously again.
I haven't been to a game all year, and I love going to Prospect. I am totally against the exhibition game crap and John Olsen's love child that is the SANFL. When Adelaide and Port are gone, I'll go again. F the AFL, F John Olsen. I'll pay when it's fair, and when it' South Australian. I don't...
He made the comment that questioning Dank had undergone had not been "forensic"
He also said that the week after the tribunal decision was taken up by leave (for staff?) around Easter so the decision as to whether to appeal had been delayed by that, but that he was going to get legal advice re...
Romping Wins by a short half head in front of bigheddie...(mute button is my friend)
RIP Ritchie a truly great commentator, if only the above two could try out Ritchie's pause technique, but for about 3 hours before and after the game...
Basketball Jones sucks...not the song...get a round ball and hoops at each end if you really want it to be basketball...umpire the game properly and it's not a problem...the AFL is a joke.
Stinking up footy like no other club can...I understand why players agree to play for these lowlifes...and I wish those players well...but some of those responsible for this mess are still there and in good conscience, should not be.
Excellent article, I enjoyed reading that very much. It mirrored my thoughts and described well the pitiful version of cricket commentary they peddle (I no longer watch cricket, though I played for years and love the game). Radio commentary is so much better in my opinion. The image of Chappelli...
Top bloke, wish Brent all the best and hope he's up and about soon. I know he was looking forward to the golf day so he'll be disappointed about that as well, but as long as he's okay in the long run, that's the main thing.
I couldn't care less whether you lot win or lose. It's what drug cheating does to a competition. Whether Lance Armstrong is coaching your lot or not makes no difference. Essendon needs an Integrity Officer like the AFL has just to wrap it up nicely. PR guys are rubbish too, they are so easy to...
I figure they'll go wherever the money is...
avoid legal fees if they can
avoid scrutiny by manipulating the media
keep crowds and memberships up by whatever it takes
make the competition appear clean and wholesome by keeping the clubs, players and staff in line
help a team be competitive to...
I don't hate this idea...but sanfl wouldn't go for it...olsen is a **** in my opinion and would be happy to see an AFL reserves grand final every year...
Yeh, that bar at Richmond is a fine place...especially when a few other games are on...Prospect was better when we had a screen used at each end of the club room...sanfl game...afl game...Roosters upstairs :)
I'd happily not have the Power or Crows in the SANFL, it was my preference to have a competition without them, but money won as it usually seems to do.
I certainly don't think the arguments presented are invalid; and bias is a part of footy culture and I wouldn't single out individuals in that...
Just regarding not being able to see the score, I was sitting in the eastern stand and couldn't see the score on the video screen opposite me, contrast or colour not quite good enough for my eyesight, though I don't have the same problem at the MCG. The old scoreboard and the screen next to it...
I really dislike Hamish and his commentary...woeful...sounds like a museum tour or a real estate agent....mute button time..or change channels...and the Rompingwins stuff is just as cringeworthy as Bruce's commentary...but there aren't many commentators I don't mute....Dennis I don't mind most...
I found a bit of info on Trove re some of the SAFA names from 1877, it might take a bit more hunting to find umpires names but that's an online place to look. State library would be the best bet I'd have thought, or SANFL/SAFA?
FOOTBALL IN EARLY DAYS.
