No chip Slay, A-Section is the premier competition in the state, but I have little doubt that the Hampden League premiers would defeat a B-Grade side. Matter of opinon and not important as there is no right or definitive answer and we could argue all day. However I will say just because you...
Mifsud has been at St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs for the past two years.
Caramut is a tiny club, whilst Koroit is near Warrnambool, and plays in the Hampden League. They were a joke before he turned up, now a power of the league with the foundations he built. They'd beat any B-Grade...
Rabs
Is it true what's in the little paper today that Beauy have signed Jason Mifsud to coach in 2008?!?! If so that's a massive coup, and could result in me upgrading your stock from sell to hold. He's a driven man who did great things at the Caramut and Koroit football clubs.
Merry...
To my old mate Rabs. Surely you've got to be starting to get the jitters now about the drop? MHSOB are gone, but Caulfield and OMs are improving and you guys are looking decidedly shaky. Back to C-Grade again?
Exactly. Anyone can do alright in juniors and pull on the Big W at u/17 level. Do something in seniors then get respect.
Not making any comment on McDougall as I've never seen him play, but people using junior form as a reference point are kidding themselves.
Looking forward to watching the big clash at HCO this Sunday, as the Rats take on United. Do the Rats have any sort of chance on the proviso Frato has a blinder?
No idea who Mr Groves is, but whether or not he's in the side matters little. Given decent conditions at the Eastern Oval (ok, that's unlikely) the VCFL boys by plenty.
Mick Fratin is one of the most talented footballers I've seen. Thumping right foot kick, strong overhead mark and has plenty of confidence.
Changing tack, with the signings noted in the Mail-Times, can we hope to see United mount a serious challenge to Horsham's dominance? Always the better...
Rabs how good is this, we AGREE on something!!!! Still think you're in line for the drop if Caulfield can lift though....
As I've noted on another thread, full credit to the Bogans for the depth in their playing list, junior program, professionalism and off-field structure, but the fact...
Like TBP I loath rather than love the Bogans, however one can't deny how well they are travelling at the moment in all facets.
So the debate begins; Will the VAFA let them play A-Grade at the worst ground in Melbourne? (the one thing they haven't got going for them!!)
The standard is dropping, in all the grades. Hence promoted sides are finding it much easier (see Old Brighton & Collegians in A, St Bedes & Ajax in B, Carey & Rupo in C). VAFA starting to lag behind the big district leagues in terms of quality footballers. There's cake, but no cream.
The...
I'm a supporter and former player of the Ararat FC Rabs. We're currently going through a rebuilding phase after last years false dawn, which was promising before a player exodus over summer brought us back down.
Beauy still right in it for the drop, the form will tail off.
Maybe the Fenster is quick to judge, am I alone in thinking that the depth and quality of amateur football it as its lowest ebb in recent memory?
From the games I've seen and anecdotal evidence suggests that the game isn't the same.
Is anyone else concerned with the poor standard of writing and the overuse of the smiley faces on the Wimmera board? Is anyone older than 15 years of age on this thread other than Grimmett?
Also would someone be able to provide an update every Monday as to the events in the Horsham pubs each...
Where is Red Roy the Oracle of C-Section football? He's very quiet isn't he with the Uni Reds struggling.
Ordinary year in C-Section.
Monash,Mazenod, Fitzroy, Parkdale - terrible
NOBs/Ormond/Whitefriars - battlers
Carey/Rupo - fair
Camberwell - serious chance to be premiers and...
Interesting clash today as two spruik sides meet each other, the Freds (Uni Reds) and Rupo. Won't it be grand when the boys from Sunbury run rings around them.
You've changed Brian.
I miss the hard hitting, BigFooty reporter. Our own version of ACA's Martin King.
Brian has spoken, clearly nothing more of relevance to say about VAFA.
Newsflash:
The team that plays at the Brunswick St oval shall be called either of two names;
1. It's REAL name, Uni Reds
2. Or Fred's, stands for front-running Reds.
