Too many local footy coaches coach to game plans that just don’t work in the modern era. This frustrates a lot of players. Coaches need to upskill regularly because old game plans no longer work. Hyde would know this and is too good to let go.

Some clubs will struggle if they have to keep playing year after year without promotion. It’s not sustainable to either the clubs or the players.

2 years of no footy and no finals they have had no chance to earn it. If NFNL says finals are too expensive what are they doing? Get the teams on a paddock with umpires, have clubs provide boundary umps, officials etc if you have to. Just get it done

If there are no more games due to COVID why not promote both Banyule and Lower? League has already said no relegation next year so that would give an even number of 12 teams in Div 1 next year with two to be relegated the year after.

Looks like a mallee gone wrong. IMO those players that threw punches should go but those that wrestled and pushed and shoved should be warned. Banyule and Lower are flag contenders. Eltham a bit off the pace but across the season May catch up. Haven’t seen StMarys, Thomastown and Diamond Creek yet. Diamond Creek could make a statement this week if they beat Banyule.
