The most we can ever ask for as footy fans is to have hope in our side being competitive, and then one day for memories and history to be created through great times, that we can re-live in future years and tell our kids and grandkids about.
During most of my time as a Richmond fan in the 90's...
He's only at the Suns because of what he did with us.
Without his time at Richmond, there is no Dimma, so why hate on him?
It's actually a massive compliment to our football club that he's even at the Suns.
He will also never see the heights of his time at the Tigers with the Suns, even if...
All I can say is, as a supporter of a team that had a 37 year drought and decades of medicority, that I'm really happy for you guys to have the chance to break that cycle as a football club. As much as we all support our own clubs, we are all followers of the game, and the game can be a cruel...

This might help! Random bump I know, but I was randomly looking for this game tonight and came across this link, thought I'd share.
That's because he's the only player in the league to ever kick 1300+ goals, and his tally will probably never be overtaken. Without that standout achievement to set him apart from the rest of his contemporaries, his lack of a premiership probably WOULD have hurt his legacy, and he potentially...
Yeah, not one of my finer moments, thanks for the random likes recently!
But getting Yarran and then things going the way they did in 2016 still (very indirectly) led to 3 flags in 4 years and a dynasty... so there's that isn't there?! :moustache:
Only the club that took the punt on Chris...
Honestly, Richmond fans really don't need to be bothered by this bump, as it is actually a fascinating trade to look back on. Obviously it's really sad how things have turned out for Chris from a personal perspective, and that discussion is probably for a different thread, but ultimately he was...
I don't have any issue with those aspects of your argument here, however my point is that this season's results don't reflect reality as much as previous years, because there are so many things that are different to how things normally are. A prime example of this are the shorter quarters...
Imagine at the end of 2018, somebody told you that in less than 18 months, both the Blues and the Suns would be mid-tier teams potentially contending for finals, meanwhile Melbourne and Sydney (both 2018 finalists) would occupy 2 of the bottom 4 spots on the ladder.
Also imagine telling...
My sentiments are similar to those shared already, I feel like if it's a choice between you or your family eating that week, or having an RFC membership, nobody (including the club) will begrudge helping you out, but if you aren't in that position and have received a huge benefit from the...
Realistically, the AFL may not survive this as a whole, at least in the way that we've known it.
It's at least comforting to know that, if this did end up being the end of the current era as we know it, it went out with Richmond as the reigning premiers.
People on here get way too caught up in the week-to-week performances, especially early in the year when we've all been starved of footy for 6 months. But by the end of this season, I'm 100% sure that this match and how it played out will be completely irrelevant to the fortunes of both the RFC...
There may no longer be a league to play for in 2021 if this season is cancelled, given the extreme and almost unrecoverable financial impact it will have on all 18 clubs and the AFL administration as a whole, with sponsorships, gate revenue, TV deals, etc all being under very real threat.
And...
You'd have to think that at some point, pubs and bars would be closed down, as they are very social locations, and if social distancing is being encouraged, many of the people who want to have a punt/gamble on something, or have a few beers, would just stay at home and do it online with a 6 pack...
Actually I think it'd be better if the clubs WERE privately owned by very rich individuals who could back them up from their own wallets.
What people don't realize is that if the AFL season is suspended or cancelled completely, the AFL administration itself would be in a very precarious...
This thread isn't intended to be a troll thread, this is a legitimately serious implication that ALL 18 clubs are already preparing for behind closed doors.
There are some clubs better positioned than others, and the AFL has contracts that say they need to produce 9 games per week in a 22 game...

We've all been focused (and rightly so) on the health crisis that is currently in-front of us as a society, however at some point in time, whether it be weeks/months/etc, things WILL...
Scott just throwing himself under the bus here. His team tried (and failed) to beat the Tigers in finals in both of the flag years. 2 cracks at it Chris, and you couldn't get it done.
How many times will Richmond have to beat a Chris Scott-led Geelong in big finals for him to stop his whining...
Results of these 3 teams since the start of 2015:
Hawthorn - 3 finals series in 5 years - 1 Grand Final appearance - 1 flag
Sydney - 4 finals series in 5 years - 1 Grand Final appearance - 0 flags
Geelong - 4 finals series in 5 years - 0 Grand Final appearances - 0 flags
Meanwhile...
Richmond...
Richmond's rise from "worse than Fitzroy" at the start of 2010, to "potential dynasty in the making" at the start of 2020, was a calculated and methodical rebuild of a football club, in all facets, completed during a time of AFL expansion from 16 to 18 teams, thinned out talent pools, draft...
Don't care about w's or l's in pre-season, only about preparation for Round 1. However, I'd be taking in our strongest lineup, but maximizing the extended bench for some potential inclusions for the season proper, given that this is the last match before the real stuff begins.
B: Grimes...
In my opinion, this question needs more context.
Is the question "which list would you want least for 2020?" or is it "which list would you want least looking at the next 3-5 years?"
For example; I wouldn't want Gold Coast's list going into 2020, they have almost no chance of being competitive...
Hahaha.. best way to know that you've got someone by the balls on the Bay, and that they know it, is when they start insulting you personally, then only quote your first line, and ignore the rest of what you said! ;):D
Right... I don't really understand this logic though, because whether you look just at recent history, or go back decades, Richmond are ahead in terms of flags.
Collingwood only pip Richmond if you go all the back to the 1910's... easiest way to illustrate this is to go backwards and count the...
Why isn't my analogy comparable?
The "money" represents ultimate success. Prior to 2017, we'd had absolutely none (broke), and between 2017-2019 we've won 2 flags in 3 years, which represents the "2 million". The "3 million" represents what we would have had if we'd won the middle flag.
Seems...
Does it even matter man? We're the champs now, that shit is ancient history. ;)
I genuinely just laugh when I see people trying to insult Richmond these days. They've got nothing to go with at the moment except things that are not really relevant to the now anymore.
