Always an inspirational leader offield, he loved his leadership role this season as he lead from the front, ending up the #1 player from any position based on DT/Exie onfield . He's not just the Mateflon favourite, but also a Mobbs favourite. No wonder he turned to Pawly Legal to dress him in designer clothes

Tonight I was planning on sitting next to some of our new rookies for the season but it seems to be a mistake since I’m the only one who has turned up!?

Congratulations on another outstanding year. You have dominated onfield and continued to be an inspirational leader offield. How would your rate your second year, and the Bears' year as a whole?
this was definitely a transition year for the bears and in hindsight makes sense for a young developing side
We had some great dominant wins early in the season but ultimately ran out of steam in the second half but definitely some great foundations for next season
You played in the midfield last year before moving to the Ruck this season and dominating. What's in store for next season?
Next season I really want to learn on my leadership, I’ve definitely proven I can play Qooty and play the ruck quite well so now I want to help our younger players make the right decision on field

Who is your tip to win the Mateflon Medal?
I think Millky95 might come home with the chocolates tonight he had the benefit of the best ruck in the comp giving him first use in the midfield

As a life member, my PA/dance off partner , a media buff and friend of the Bears, you're in charge of the dance floor and food. Which theme did you pick for decorations, and did you have any luck contacting Jezmiester40 to help with catering?
As a life member I delegated the decorations to the rookies and food to guero. I'm banking on him coming through with a feast. I can't trust Jez with food handling.

I mean, apart from Elvis - "Viva Las Vegas" (obviously) I'll be playing some classic tracks, from "Bohemian Rhapsody" to "What Is Love" to "Friday" by Rebecca Black.

Ever since the switch from Cap to Western Stand Warrior, the Sim has seemed less kind to you at Centre . Is a name change and/or positional change in store for next season? I think I can change back in August , and will be when I can! As for a positional change I'm happy to do the team thing, I'd I'm going to spud it up it needs to be in a team role

After a long week of awards discussions in the committee, it seemed like the perfect time to enjoy a pre Mateflon hot tub before the count (which will start soon). I tried to get in touch with Tigerturbulance but his retiring rep Ned_Flanders corresponded with us instead.

Season 31 Round 1 - Las Vegas Bears 18.9 (117) defeated Fighting Furies 17.6 (108) at The Stadium In The Sky

After an eventful offseason when we signed respected league immortal Broken, we kickstarted our S31 campaign against Tigerturbulance , Ned_Flanders and the rest of the Furies. By the end of the week, both teams were ready to don the qooty boots again. On a Cloudy day at our beloved Stadium in the Sky, first time match-poster FootyGuy13 broke the news that according to the sim, there were no players to watch on either team. Boy was the sim wrong about us!


Brilliant young ruckman Muddiemoose (36 disposals, 113 DT) not only had “the edge” over , but totally schooled his seasoned opponent and reigning beez winner Turbo in a complete performance reminiscent of a young Dean Cox. Fellow talented second years guero (126 DT, 31 disposals, 2 goals) and tony also had days out. Classy midfielder Millky95 (122DT, 9 tackles, 29 disposals) also completely dominated. New Vice Captain Metalcrusher lead from the front and capitalised on our midfield dominance to kick 7 goals whilst the evergreen Matera92 (102 DT points, 28 disposals, 4 tackles) wound back the clock was influential all day and pushed his #Matera4Mobbs cause. Overall, we had multiple contributors around the ground and converted narrow 1, 2 and 1 point 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter leads into a memorable 9 point win.

Season 31 Round 2 - Las Vegas Bears 18.9 (117) defeated by Coney Island Warriors 19.9 (123) at the Stadium In The Sky

In the grudge match aptly dubbed the "Match Of The Round" as the only game featuring two unbeaten teams, we took on the Warriors at our beloved Stadium In The Sky. After a match thread which resembled a school playground at times, we couldn't wait to get back to the qooty on Sunday.

On yet another cloudy day, both teams began strongly in a close and highscoring, 11 goal quarter . We converted a 7 point quarter time deficit to a 1 goal half time lead and extended it to a 4 goal lead by three quarter time. Unfortunately our Good Blend of youth and experience fell just short in the end as we lost by 6 points.


Second year leaders tony (109 DT points, 26 disposals) and Muddiemoose (15 hitouts, 28 disposals, 2 goals, 106 DT points) lead from the front and kept us in it all day. Their midfield partner in crime Millky95 (92 DT points, 23 disposals, 1 goal) was also dominant. Second gamer bl4ke lived up to his name with 4 classy goals. Despite conditions that didn't suit defenders, our defence stood tall and rallied behind the retiring Bipolarbear . Evergreen kane249 provided much needed rebound with an astounding 26 disposals/97 DT points from defence and yours truly massacred zackah , who was also held goalless. Overall there were plenty of silver linings to take from that game despite luck/the final result not going our way. Coincidentally, our final score (18.9-117) was identical to our score last week.

Season 31 Round 3 -Las Vegas Bears 13.5 (83) defeated by Mount Buller Demons 23.10 (148) at the Stadium In The Sky

In the 3rd round of S31, the mighty Bears came up against foundation club, Mount Buller Demons. The match began well for the Bears with multiple opening term goals to Jezmiester40 and Metalcrusher to take an 11 point lead at quarter time. The Demons managed to wrestle back the momentum in the 2nd kicking 5 goals to 2 from ruckman Muddiemoose and little spoon Millky95 to take a slim 8 point lead into the main break.



Unfortunately, the Demons got on top in the 3rd holding the Bears to a goalless quarter whilst kicking 8 of their own. The last wasn't much better with the Bears ultimately going down at home by 65 points. Metalcrusher (4 goals), Jezmiester40 (3), RookiePick and Muddiemoose (2 goals) were the multiple goal scores whilst Millky95 (26 disposals), guero (24) and Western Stand Warrior (23) lead the way in the midfield.
