Welcome Ophidian Old Boy’s, families and special guests to the S35 Ophidian Old Boys Qootball clubs award night celebrating the season that has been and recognizing individuals who have excelled both on and off the qooty field.

In only our second season we have won the Grand Final, dreams do come true. An outstanding result for such a new club and testament to what good leadership and quality player recruitment can produce. A lot has happened in only our second season:

• The much-loved Callums_Guns being traded mid-season to the Demons in exchange for the grass is always Greenery on the other side
• Our over excited pussy kannanooks perma banned
• Over The Post departing not because he had a dispute but to take a step back for RL, so regardless of the story’s we spun we all love our spiritual guide simian
• The best of the Bombers posters Ligma and Robertio coming across from Baghdad
• Our favorite camel toe and only rookie kenneyswarriors who originally signed up with the Bombers and quickly realized his mistake and galloped out of Baghdad before he had even played a game
• The addition of a great character and fun-loving team mate from the Dragons @Braklett who just couldn’t stay away from that sexy pussy Bonz.
• The OOB Fishing Trip where we had the SFA believing all our players were defecting, the club was folding, we were merging with the Dragons and the anti-expansionist got to celebrate the Old Boys demise for a short while
• Dominating on field and winning the Grand Final
• An incredible 3 players named in the S35 All-SFA side: Tigerturbulance / Robertio / Mobbs

We truly are a united playing group who have thrived and grown even stronger in only our second season. OOB have been able to play quality qooty on field and beat our opponents off field with our fantasy story lines. It takes a united team to pull off the drama we did S35 and is a credit to the engagement and buy in from all our playing group.

All the awards are based on the results of the Season 35 sixteen games played during the Home and Away rounds. The First award presented tonight will be The BOP which is presented to the Best Ophidian Poster based on a player’s posting contribution off and on field which includes match threads, Team PM and media creation and engagement in the SWEET FA as a whole. This award is sponsored by our proud partners Old Parr.

The BOP for S35 goes to Tigerturbulance, a poster who gets around even when not invited, some people love him and some people hate him, a larger-than-life poster who has flown the Old Boys Flag all season. Averaging over 53 posts a week in match threads and uses gifs and paint shop images all over the place to put the fantasy into The Sweet F.A.

Our next award is The BOG ‘Best on Ground’ decided by on field game performance.

The OOB had a lot of great on field performances this season with a few players having break our seasons. The appointment of Ligma as Head of High Performance returned great dividends straight away with improvements to the team’s endurance and ability to play out 4 quarters of qooty.

It was a great season for the club making finals again, and the reason for this success was the on-field performances of our players. Coming in at 5th place with a DT of 1007 is one of OOB’s most versatile athletes who played unselfishly where ever she was needed. Over the season Ligma played on the Wing, Half Forward Flank, Center Half Forward and Ruck Rover, well done on a season where you got to show your versatility and depth of talent. Congratulations Ligs on making the top 5 BOG

In 4th place is a pocket rocket rover Mrs Turbo scoring 1092 DT. What she lacks in pace and size she makes up for in aggression and determination, resulting in her having the teams highest tackle count of 79. Another advantage Mrs Turbo had being small was the umps loved her and looked after her, resulting in Mrs Turbo being the OOB’s highest free kick recipient with 46 freebies given to her.

3rd place on 1100 DT is a player who struggled last year as our ruck to find form. Fortunately, being repositioned on the wing has reinvigorated his game and who knew a broken down ruck could run so fast. Well done U2tigers for not giving up and turning your form around to be OOB’s 3rd best on field player this season, a credit to you.
