Anyone else having issues with their 'alerts'? I'm finding that I am missing a lot of notices and alerts.
What seems to be happening is that the alerts appear, but if I click on one, my alerts immediately re-sets back to Feb 14th. All the other alerts disappear. So if more than one person has replied to me for instance, I lose that alert.

Am I the only one?

"Re-sets back to Feb 14th" - as in all the threads that were unread on that date become unread again?

While weā€™re bugging the boss man, why do I have to enter my tips for every competition Iā€™m in, rather than just once?? šŸ˜‰

But back to DJ75 what browser are you using? Iā€™m on safari iOS, and chrome on windows and seem to be ok. Letā€™s try and narrow this down.
Using a Macbook. I use Google Chrome

Yeh all unread notices after Feb 14 are gone. The only 'alerts' are Feb 14th and prior as though they are unread.

I've tried marking them all read previously. I'll try shutting down the browser and logging back in. Just have to save some of my actual work first!

Computers are the bane of my existence.
The only notifications I get are the team e-mail. Thatā€™s why I donā€™t reply to tags for quite a while. Iā€™ve learned to live with it. šŸ˜¬ If Iā€™m posting in a thread, like the game day rush, I get notifications that others are posting. I knowā€¦Iā€™m in the thread. šŸ˜†

I don't quite get this - which alerts are you missing?

I donā€™t get e-mail notifications from any threads unless Iā€™m online posting in it. I have to come here to see the list. Only our team PM e-mails me.
Yeah you won't if you haven't asked for emails when you watched the thread in the first place.

If you are watching automatically, it watches with email alerts.

You would need to un-watch and then re-watch with Email Alerts selected.

Chief, Bonz, DJ75, Nool Carpenna, Maylandsman, Blaze Storm, Braklet, Pie 4 Life, serial_thrilla, T2B_, Mooresome, Stoods, DragoDelph, BringBackTheAnchor, Matt_352, Strigoi, Hatchy1992, paraaaa, Knifey Spoony, VandoHawk, Bradesmaen, Ashman OG, HawkAussie, Ljp86.

Another quiet week in Round 5, this time against the Phoenix. 490 match thread posts with a 57% share of the thread was a great result, but dropping down to only 16 active Dragons (the lowest for the season) was a tad worrying. Matt_352, Stoods, Ashman OG and paraaaa were all absent, whilst VandoHawk's cameo was short-lived. Some solid numbers at the top end though, with Strigoi (84), T2B_ (80), Braklet (63), DragoDelph (62) and Bonz (54) all very visible in the thread. It was also good to see a season PB from Bradesmaen (12)!

Round 6 sees us against league yappy dogs the Baghdad Bombers, so hopefully we can see a return to some big numbers this week. Go Dragons!

Specially for Strigoi ...

Remember, this is coming from a Cats fan ;)

Heard of the band, and I guess I know one of their songs now. šŸ˜ Whatā€™s with the oneā€™s outfit? šŸ˜†
Sooooā€¦is your Hawks indoctrination starting to work?

Hush up with your indoctrination talk!

Hawkwind were more than a band, sort of a wacky music collective, kinda like England's answer to the Grateful Dead. So they always had a weird spacey show, sometimes with dancers considered part of the band. In the early days, naked with body paint:

Round 5
Team Banner MVP S33.png

One of the awards that is issued each season at Dragons FFC is the Coach's MVP. Each week Coach will cast votes based on who he thinks performs best on the qooty field. Raw statistics, positional dominance and big moments in the sim are taken into account, and Coach crunches the numbers with a complex algorithm to deal out 3-2-1 votes. Coach AceAndy still has the big job at the Dragons, despite an increasing reputation for sudden, strange onfield moves that either pay off brilliantly or end in total disaster, fast becoming known as Craaaaazy Andy, but after a premiership in season 32, understandably still has the keys to the machine that is the Dragons.

Coach's thoughts:

Having just come off a win against the Swamprats, we were now coming up against the East Side Hawks. Apparently they are called the Phoenix or something now, but I will likely either forget to call them that because of old age or simply because I don't give a toss for their rebrand. But alas, I digress.

To get our season on track, we wanted to get another win on the trot. We were confident our best had started coming back. Or had it?

[RD 5], Conditions for this match - RAINY

Well, it was a rainy affair at The Eyrie so that was already a less than stellar start to our day. Still, crap weather was nothing to new for us Dragons, and hell, we won a premiership last season through some awful conditions.

The first quarter was really a tale of two halves. The first half of proceedings looked like it was going to be a blow out to the Phoenix. They had a run of 5 goals (one of them by known liar MC Bad Genius, to rub salt into the wound) putting them up a frustrating 31 points midway through the first term and I had begun to wonder if my Dragons had actually turned up at all. Thankfully, however, we swung things back our way with 4 goals on the trot of our own and went into quarter time only 4 points down. A deficit, but largely a reset after the initial early blowout.

The second quarter was a bit strange, as the fast scoring seemed to dry up, even if the ground itself had not. Both sides traded multiple behinds and played backwards and forwards footy. The Hawks had gotten an early goal, only for us to respond through a major to Hatchy1992. Edging close to red time, it was once again Hatchy that slotted another. He celebrated particularly hard after that goal - I am not sure if it's because he had been the one to slot both the Dragons goals this term or whether because he finally got a Subway voucher. Probably the latter. In any case we went into half time with a 2 point advantage, so we were sticking right by them.

The third term looked to be a bit of the Bonz show that we've come to love, as he managed to snag 3 more goals in the term at key intervals - beginning, middle and end. However he only had DJ75 as partner in crime who slotted one of his own and unfortunately we did concede 4 goals to the Phoenix. All said and done, this meant we went into 3 quarter time with scores level. An arm wrestle indeed.

Still, we have a champion team who know how to get things done so we were confident of bringing it home in the last. Things were hopeful as while the Hawks kicked the initial goal, Strigoi quickly responded with her second major of the match bringing scores level once more, showing yet again what a powerhouse she is around the ground as a ruck. Unfortunately, it all sort of fell off a cliff from here - the Hawks kicked the next 4 goals, with our only response coming from Bonz kicking his 6th goal for the match, but this was right at the end of the term and once the final siren rang... we had gone down by 18 points.

Very disappointing, but we clearly ran out of legs - we had to rue our first quarter blow out and the catch up game we played because of it. In these conditions it simply took too much out of the squad. Too much fast food or not enough during the week? That would be the thing to ponder after this result.

MATCH-UPS :
  • While the match-up was a bit of a side-show, Milera2Betts beat Ashman OG today - but not by much. - 95m from 1 to 96.
  • In what was a very slow day for both, Blaze Storm had Drunkgoliath's measure. - 10m from 3 to 13.
  • In quite a tussle, 11kgm came out tops over the brave Blaze Storm. - 73m from 24 to 97.
  • In what became a bit of a clinic, I'm not sure that what Bonz did to Drunkgoliath should be entirely legal. - 64m from 34 to 98.
  • While both players struggled to make an impact, Bonz came out tops over the brave Shermy. - 21m from 8 to 29.
  • In a comparatively small-fry arm wrestle, it could be argued that Bradesmaen had the better game against Jack The Godfather - although there was very little in it. - 26m from 3 to 29.
  • In a comparatively small-fry arm wrestle, not much between Bradesmaen and SunsphereParker - the former was probably a smidgeon better. - 67m from 31 to 98.
  • Regardless that this wasn't a huge game for either player, Braklet won the bout with eth-dog. - 34m from 6 to 40.
  • While both players struggled to make an impact, Braklet came out tops over the brave raskolnikov. - 31m from 68 to 99.
  • While very slim pickings for both players, Chief and MC Bad Genius had an epic contest. - 94m from 1 to 95.
  • Toe to toe throughout, DJ75 and larrikin were evenly matched. - 89m from 5 to 94.
  • In an epic battle, Agent93 and DragoDelph were well-matched - there was no victor. - 96m from 3 to 99.

  • Neither getting, near the ball much, Shermy was way too good for Knifey Spoony. - 17m from 76 to 93.
  • In what was a very slow day for both, Knifey Spoony had thewizardmelon's measure. - 15m from 23 to 38.

Defender highlights: It was difficult conditions for our defenders. A combination of poor, slippery weather and an unrelenting Phoenix outfit meant they were up against it all day. Nool Carpenna (11d, 6m), Blaze Storm (12d, 1m) and serial_thrilla (10d, 3m) competed as well as they could, but sadly we didn't have too many winners in their positions here.

Midfield highlights: The midfield battle was interesting, as we beat or at least broke even with the Phoenix here. DragoDelph (25d, 4m, 3t) continued his fine form since moving onball, while Strigoi (18d, 16ho, 2g, 1b) supplied our mids superbly and had an impact around the ground and on the scoreboard herself. Bradesmaen (18d, 7m) provided some good drive down the wing and Pie 4 Life (20d, 4t) did his thing.

Forward highlights: Our forward woes for Season 33 continued unfortunately, in terms of options and goal spread. Bonz (11d, 6g, 4b) continued to nearly break his back by carrying us, helping himself to a nice bag. Braklet (17d, 2m, 1g) was a strong presence at CHF and DJ75 (15d, 5m, 1g) was productive alongside him.

Next week: We take on the Bombers. Yes, the Bombers. A win over that mob is required regardless of ladder position and if we win I declare double KFC and Subway rewards (surely incentive enough for Knifey Spoony to come out of his coma!). We will need to start strong and perhaps do some heavy praying to the Qooty weather gods. Go Dragons!

Fantastic win Dragons!! Not much more to say considering the dominance we had during the game, we came out firing in the first half and smashed the opposition to hold a 103 point lead at half time. The second half was a cruise to the finish, an enjoyable one nonetheless.

Bonz had a massive game with 11 goals, a feat rarely seen within the game, Braklet also had a huge game too with 37 disposals and two goals, T2B_ was dominant as well along with Pie 4 Life, DJ75, Bradesmaen while Knifey Spoony bagged two Subway vouchers with four goals.

An awesome win it must be said and a fantastic team performance. Next week is an away game so we'll need to be prepared for that with a good start to be important.

Go Dragons!! :thumbsu:

Chief, Bonz, DJ75, Nool Carpenna, Maylandsman, Blaze Storm, Braklet, Pie 4 Life, serial_thrilla, T2B_, Mooresome, Stoods, DragoDelph, BringBackTheAnchor, Matt_352, Strigoi, Hatchy1992, paraaaa, Knifey Spoony, VandoHawk, Bradesmaen, Ashman OG, HawkAussie, Ljp86.

So sim-results aside it was quite a disappointing round against the Bombers in Round 6, with only 13 Dragons making an appearance in the thread - our lowest number in quite a few seasons. Those that did appear though stood tall, and our total of 552 match thread posts was nothing to be ashamed about. Strigoi (97), T2B_ (78) and DragoDelph (82) were everywhere, and they had some wonderful support from Bonz (75) and Braklet (64). We also saw season-high output from Ljp86 (24), Blaze Storm (17) and Chief (10) - whilst Hatchy1992 (15) and Pie 4 Life (11) each popped in for handy cameos

Hopefully we'll see the return of the likes of Stoods, Matt_352, DJ75, Ashman OG and HawkAussie shortly!

Round 7 sets us up against our arch-rivals the Warriors who have always been a bit rabid due to our on-field dominance over them for the past few seasons. Let's continue our recent form and keep that trend going. Go Dragons!
