Chad Warner
When the Sydney Swans swept up Chad Warner with pick 39 at the 2019 AFL Draft, they secured a youngster with an insatiable appetite for the contest. Warner attacks the ball and opponents with aggression and is relishing calling midfield bulls Josh Kennedy and Luke Parker his teammates at the Swans. Warner impressed for Western Australia in the 2019 AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 18.2 touches (50 per cent contested), 3.2 clearances and 6.8 tackles per game. He also tallied an average of 27.1 disposals, 6.4 clearances and 7.4 tackles per match at Colts level for East Fremantle in 2019. He earned his AFL debut against Richmond in Round 6 of the 2020 season, recording eight disposals and two tackles.

Chad Warner
DOB: 19 May 2001

I watch Chad play and his general demeanour on the ground and in the rooms, and I just don't see any evidence at all that he has any intention of leaving this year or next. He looks like he is having the time of his life on the field.
I actually love watching interviews with him, because he's got the cheekiest smile, and is always happy. And watch him around the other players, so much love there!

100% his manager said "park the contract, play well and get an extra year or 100k out of them"

If his manager is smart he wouldn't put it as baldly as that. More like:
"Forget about contract stuff this year. Enjoy your footy, win a premiership and the rest will take care of itself.".
He's playing in Sydney next year. He would cost too much in picks and/or players while still in contract.
2026 is another question but too far away to get worked up about.

Same thing tbh

Got a bit of the downhill skiier about him does our Chad

He is not backing up the swagger in big moments right now at the very least.

He seemed to think he had so much space and time yesterday and lacked real awareness.

In his defence, there was no one giving him options up forward when he got the ball

Yes and No, I am not rewatching, but I remember a couple of gathers where he only just realised a Lion player was on him and had to panic kick

Ive watched twice , he had no help , wow Adams would've been handy to extract and play on Neale

Again another favourite . I did rewatch it , Warner was playing like he had all the time in the world , no awareness.

Agree re Adams

He's not an inside midfielder.

If they keep play him like that then these performances will happen over and over again.

Same with Gulden.

Yeah Chad was awful in the QF against the Giants with all those clearances.
