How yuck was that?

Worst thing is how many times we've seen spud do that sort of shit!

How frustrating is it? He works his ass of in the backline and does so many good things and then every now and then has these little brain fades which make us all want to pull our hair out! I suppose we just have to take the good with the bad, with spud.

Can i say just i know weve played GC and GWS but weve also played Essendon who are 4-1, Geelong who are 3-2 and Sydney who are undeafeated and we have kicked 15 more goals than the next best team.
Our forward line is on fire and is very potent. All this with Petrie having a quiet month. Make no mistake as our midfield matures more and a Black or Tarrant improve we will be punishing the big sticks.

Where are these people that have bagged him for his goal kicking faults last season? Yeah he had that night out against Carlton, great, no worries. But when he has struggled his work rate was really good, he tackled, he harrassed. I think he's a terrific little player.

As were most of his kicks. The bullet that Drew marked and goaled from was a beautiful kick too.

Yeah well let's see 85% of that game this week when the heat is really on. Until then beating up on kids, looks good and was good on Saturday, but really means very little.

The question is and will always be, can he kick the goal from 30m out 45degree angle when we need him too.

I hope he can, doubt he will, but really do hope that he can continue his excellent form for the rest of the year.

Maybe this is over the top, but I thought LTs game v the Suns was about as good as it gets. Wasted no opportunity up forward, had score assists, two massive heroic acts, no clanger I can remember and tackling and pressure were as per usual. I was very very pleased to see it.

You can see Lindsay bleeds for the club. I love him. One of our best onfield leaders and still only 24, he'll only get better from here.

Expecting him to do some serious damage from one of the half forward paddocks on Subi this w/e.

Yep, sounds like you're right in the bloke's corner. Feel the love.

I would argue that Lindsay has already stood up and proven himself under pressure, against quality opposition, on a number of prior occasions. Unless of course you're disingenuously affording goal-kicking yips a wider context and application ?

From my perspective (and taking into account previous calls, etc), you not backing in Lindsay just serves to strengthen the belief that he'll be fine.

Meanwhile, at the risk of raising hilly's ire, as a general observation it would appear that......

Seems like the type of bloke that would really feed off of encouragement from the North supporters in the crowd. If he stopped being the scape goat in home games and actually got some support for the little things he does, that could elevate him even further and hell, perhaps loosen him up for set shots in front of goals.

If only he converted the 50 out on the run shot against Freo last year that would have put us 100 points up.

Would have been a massive moment in front of the home crowd.

Supporters actually supporting and encouraging, hoping to lift the lads to greater heights in their unofficial role as the 23rd man? Radical idea Stan. :sarcasmface

I reckon you're spot on, and that LT would be one of the chief beneficiaries of a raucous vocal supporter led wall of sound in support of our boys. He'd lap it up, and respond in kind.

Yep, LT deserves a lot of credit for the way he worked when he had the yips. It clearly got to him, it wasn't like he was unfazed by it all, and for that reason the goal kicking issue itself worsened. But he kept at it with all those other aspects of the game, he was the embodiement of that John Kennedy speech at Hawthorn (was it the 71 GF?) "Do something! At least you can come off and say I did this, I shepherded, I played on. At least I did something"

LT- the leap year specialist!
