OK, I've removed about three pages of posts.

Please do not use this thread to speculate about Oliver's private life – medical or otherwise.

Regardless of the veracity of your rumour, or what you know/have heard, if it's not public knowledge, just don't post it.

I don't want to turn this place into Demonland, but if you can't see the potential harm that this sort of rumour-spreading can cause (regardless of your intentions), then perhaps it's best if you take a bit of a break.

Thanks.

You’re never going to have 40 perfectly contented and psychologically stable souls in a sporting club. Some young men occasionally lose their way, go off the rails, develop attitude problems, depression and so on.

A strong club wraps its arms around the wayward ones and does ALL it can to bring them back into the fold and help get their head right. I see similarities with Dustin Martin, Dane Swan and a few others of this type who, like Clarry, were flawed geniuses who were eventually able to be reigned in by their clubs and brought to heel under team rules and guidelines.

Not everyone’s a saint. However, in terms of those leading, coaching and governing the club you’d want to make damn sure there aren’t any sinners. Because that sh1t seeps down into the playing group like poison. The fish ALWAYS rots at the head.
Mate this is nuts. You only have this take because of how much you love Oliver. If you found out Viney had been doing this all season and cost his teammates the best chance at a flag possible you'd want him gone. I find it bizarre you can't find any part of you that sees it's completely on him

Friends,

I am hearing the "situation" has successfully been de-escalated, diffused, calmed down, in other words some dust has settled a little bit and that all parties have now resolved to move forward, together.

This is good tidings, or not, depending on how excited you were to daydream about Reid not-bombing it to Oscar Allen or Pick 4 or whatever it was in red and blue next year.

It’s possible to be disappointed in Clarry yet also not want him turfed from the club. I don’t believe strong sporting organisations do that to young men unless they literally have ZERO other option.

This looks an instance where you need extremely robust, intelligent and wise leadership from the top. Do we have that? I think it’s a fair question to ask.

Hard to believe I've now duped you every day for the last four years.

My trust in you has been broken. Im going to need you to move in with Mr and Mrs Gawn

Great to know that Melbourne's best mid of all time needs a guardian so he actually shows up to training

Gawny’s got a beaut pad down at Blairgowrie. Half his luck to be chilling out down there, having a few lattes and and some swims at Portsea. He’ll be right mate. 6 months from now all a storm in a teacup.

Young bloke bendering his way through a relationship breakdown/injury is nothing new.

Hope he's pulled his head in and comes back in 2024 humbled and switched on. Can get back to being one of the best players in the competition if he gets that 2021 mindset of being the best team mate possible again.

Proof will be in the pudding.

Actually really disappointed in the club, aside from having all this shit leak, the reality is if I broke up with my partner I'd expect my employer to handle me being late to a meeting, otherwise I'd tell him to **** off too and don't tell me my attitude sucks, you suck.

Edit: nothing wrong with getting on the drugs when you have a breakup, ffs Goody you fn clown.

I hear ya and i agree with most of it but taking drugs mid season when ur an elite athlete is not really acceptable. You dont win premierships coming down from MDMA every monday/tues... *With the exception of the 2007 WCE lol

Having said that, it should be dealt with in house, and the club should be helping him through the situation not putting him on the trade block and sharing it to the entire country. If it was a nothing role player id understand them wanting to get rid of him but he isnt and elite players like Clarry do not come around often and unless they are doing something Wayne Carey like you shouldn't be trading them because they had a bad year where everything that could go wrong did go wrong.

Brodie Grundy left Pies in arguably a similar situation, in a more 'in demand' position on the field, with only 5 years left on a similar contract.

He left for Pick 27 with the Pies still covering 1/3 of his wage...........................................
If you’re expecting a 26 year old Clayton Oliver to only cost the Crows an early second round pick whilst paying only 2/3 of his wage, be prepared to be disappointed

Will Clarry be on the kids' table at the Gawn Christmas?
Does he have any chores?
Does he get his own room or is he sharing with Maxy's kids?
Does he have a racing car bed?
What's his curfew?

Hope he stays. Lots of fun to be had. Although I fear McRae's coaching style doesn't allow for opposition sledges.

Bloke sounds like a flog.

Signs a 7 year contract and goes on to disrespect everyone. Hope we ship him off.

We played better with him out of the team anyway.

Jeez mate. Like your take on this - wish you were the list manager!
Would take him and happily pay overs to get him to Adelaide

Hopefully now we’ll never hear the name Riley Thilthorpe mentioned again in connection with the Dees.
I know right! and you got a warning from a mod simply because you didn't rate him. like what? Thilthorpe is a spud! You should be able to state your opinions on a player. Especially when we were looking at his underwhelming stats.

We’ve already got a crap former No.2 key position draft pick on our list. No more thank you.
