The 2016 draft would be an interesting re-visit.

Came in to past the question..where does he sit if the 2016 draft is re-done?
i’m no draft expert but i reckon he’s rolled up 10 or so spots

Don’t ever do that again. I’ve managed to avoid reading his dross for ten years and here you are thrusting it under my nose 😆
Even a Ridley compliment from him can make you a little less intelligent by reading it.

Definitely needs some context there I reckon.

It was 9 games due to Covid reductions I think. It would be impossible to win the Crichton after playing just 9 games in a non compromised season.

Agree that Ridley is a great player though… possibly our most important.

I think the reference is to him winning the Crichton after only playing 9 games the season previous. Again, another reason the substandard dross by Barrett should never be read. Almost impossible for the brain to fully engage with.

Nine games total which seems crazy in hindsight. From memory we screwed around playing him on the wing in the vfl for a long time.

i don’t disagree with the whole sliding doors premise is absurdly moronic, it’s moreso highlighting the fact that’s he’s deservedly been recognised as an important cog for the club

It’s made even more moronic because Damo doesn’t actually understand what a sliding doors moment is. This Ridley one is true to form on that front.

Before the inevitable flaming, I'm not suggesting a revisit to the Ill fated Ridley wing experiment or anything - but I reckon in those break glass moments when you need a game breaker for 30 minutes rids would make a good leading swing man, he reads the game well, super hands, great kick, and class takes you a long way. I seem to recall he had a few bags of 5 in his draft year as a swingman.

I wouldn't mind throwing him forward like we do martin when we need a quick fill-up.

I’m not that rapt with him playing on the opposition’s most dangerous forward. Much rather give him less defensive responsibility. Laverde should’ve gone to Curnow imo.
I would have zero confidence in Lav going with Curnow. Doesn’t have the reach, spring or wheels.

Curnow got Rids early in a couple of body contests but he adjusted and kept him under control. Keeping him to 2 is no small thing!.

That said….I like to see him play as a third tall as well. Think this was largely a one-off based on a specific match up.

Ridley will have to go to all the athletic CHFs imo. In previous years he’s played on Cameron and Naughton as well

That’s honestly the worst game I can remember seeing him play in years. Which is just how good he is
i don't think he even played that poorly, he did a lot right, just bit off more than he could chew a few times
