We needed a ball winner and we found one, a great accumulator and has been hitting the score board as well.
credit to him for rising above the negativity -including mine.
I feel like "accumulator" carries negative connotations in the footy world.
Taranto wins his own ball. He and Butters play a similar brand of footy and I don't think anyone would attribute the accumulator tag to Butters.

He was agreat junior.

he honestly was a class above the year he got drafted.

We didn't have an early pick that year so we're no chance. But he was the player to trade up for.

Wanted him pretty bad, but knew we were no chance.

Love watching him play, and glad he proved GWS was wrong not to play him as a midfielder. although he was still great for the on the half forward flank.

It’s exactly what I said during the week …. Cornes can call on any stat he likes to continue pushing his point. He started with player ratings. Then went to goals. Then coaches votes. Then impact and so on ….

Now this week TT gets 9 coaches votes. He kicks 2 goals. This game had him at 20+ ratings points which is Uber elite. He gets 35 and has 12 tackles. Richmond win.

And Cornes still drags out that he kicked the ball off the ground 7 times. It was wet you friggin numbskull, and in modern footy territory is everything, particularly in wet conditions. So who GAF if he kicked the ball off the ground 7 times?

What he’s basically saying is that until such time as TT has 35 at 100% DE and kicks 3-goals he will be able to find a chink in his game and will highlight it accordingly.

You just wait until such time as TT has a poor game and Richmond loses … Karen will be unbearable.

Couldn't have said this better myself.
Inside mids do literally anything to get the footy moving forward, especially in the wet.
He needs to get the chip off his shoulder that Taranto snubbed Port.

Yep he is a moron, every player has different strengths and weaknesses , it's how they use those strengths and hide those weaknesses as much as possible that makes them a good player. Taranto is just an ok kick and at the moment he is doing what he can do with his limitations and maximising his strengths so that he is turning into an elite player.

Fyfe was always shit at kicking yet he has won two brownlows, this flog chooses to leave that out

Fortunately everyone knows Corns is a f@ckwit so his comments are usually just good for a laugh, I remember when they were saying the same about the Meatball and Richmond mortgaging its future, 3 flags later...

On Monday night Cornes was asked whether he thought he got it wrong about Taranto and he went on to criticize him due to having 7 kicks off the ground V Freo.....despite one of them being a goal, only 2 turnovers for the match....and the fact it was a wet game :$

I love a man that can own up to his mistakes, its why I dislike Cornes.

Corn 😂Trying use 7 kicks off the ground (in the wet) out of 35 touches as a blight on Tarantos game is just hilariously poor footy intelligence.

Then goes on to mention he only had 6 score involvements…even though this was the 5th highest amount by any player.

Just an absolute clown of a bloke and actually one of the lowest footy IQ of current journos.

I think Cornes will never concede that his call on Taranto was ridiculously harsh. Now that he is being constantly called out on it, he'll double down because he loves the relevance it gives him. Unless Taranto plays the perfect game, every game, for the rest of the year, Cornes will find something to suggest that he isn't as good as some of the other midfielders in the league. Regardless, every other expert and footy follower can see that Taranto is a Brownlow favourite now. If that doesn't put you in the conversation of one of the best midfielders in the league this year let alone in the top 150 players, then I do know what does.

Cornes is desperate for attention and throws out these wild opinions to try and get it. He's like that toddler that throws a tandrum on the supermarket floor but when you walk away, he jumps up to follow you to begin a new tantrum.

He may not be respected but at least he's entertaining, I'll give him that.

I think he has realized that Taranto has bent him over and all of Karens colleagues are in line lubing up

He has been immense and the goals he is kicking is what seperates him from the pack.

Leading all midfielders in the comp for goals kicked. Not bad for a bloke that wasn't having an impact according to some.
wow, I didnt know that.

I remember alot of crap I copped last year from many including one poster in particular with how much a wanted this guy over other potential options.

Not a massive fan of Sam McClure either but he was right when he said Taranto wasn't playing poorly when Cornes said those comments.

I just remember Kane Cornes being such a SUBLIME, BOOMING kick of the footy where oppositions would put so much time and energy into his magical skills.
