Yes i was not a fan of playing Dusty Martin as a HBF'r either
was that your idea ?

Magic go to sleep
no it was not my idea to play Dusty at HBF.

Another story from you?

I thought playing Dusty forward was a great idea, thanks for not asking

Why do you not want RFC to innovate and help our team play even better??? Why do you want to pigeonhole players?? Why do you want to focus on players playing roles in terms of style rather whatever makes our team play better, in terms of the dynamic and combinations/synergy to win premierships down the track if not right now in our development infancy???

Are you a player agent or do you really support RFC?? Why do you want to restrict players rather than allow them to enhance their effectiveness especially in a team dynamic and help our players help our other players play better by enabling other players play better on our team through our own players playing empowering football lifting our other players possibilities and performance??

In terms of ideology why do wish for control to overtake performance in your mantra?? If you are a manager, do you prefer a divide and conquer style?? Do you wish for those you manage to regress?? Do you wish for players to stagnate into set patterns??

how did he dominate through the champs???

If you worry about confidence, play him CHB
We have half a dozen who can play CHB and have dominated that position as juniors, why would you want to play him there. Gibcus, Trainor, Miller, Blight, Kosi, Young. I'm all for trying players in different positions, but not until you are given a good go in the position you are drafted or best suited in.

If he struggles as a mid after a few years, by all means try him back, but until then CHB is the least of our worries, much less an experimental one.

Should have taken Tauru.
Each to their own.
Tauru looks a fantastic mark and reader of the play. But a sketchy field kick and decision maker.

Reckon Trainor is the better third intercept defender. Tauru the better mark, but Trainor the better kick. Both excellent readers of the play.

Tauru really has to make it as a key forward who can have multiple 50+ goal seasons to justify pick 6 though.

The pass mark for Smillie will be as a starting centre square player when he’s had a few pre seasons under his belt.

Besides, we were not going to take Tauru at 6. Smillie was the best bet, and Tauru was gone before we took Trainor, so the point is academic.

Cause we would have got Smillie at our next pick.

The thing that worries me slightly about Smillie is his lack of ball hunger in the contest. Not a Sonsie type issue as he is not scared but he doesn’t win a lot of 50/50 contests. Sharp beat him comfortably a number of times at Nationals. Most of the best recruiters in the business had Tauru, Lombard and Kako ahead of Smillie. Albeit the latter 2 were academy kids

Nope. Melbourne and Saints both on record as having other interests

Saints would have taken Lindsay if Tauru gone and Dee’s Berry or more likely Bo Allen
Of course they say that after the event, AFL recruiters modus operandi 101. 100% Saints would have taken Smillie, zero doubt

Nope he would have been gone

Both Saints and Melbourne would have taken Smillie over Berry & Lindsay

You don’t rate Trainor?

Absolute bargain at 21 and just as good if not better than Tauru I reckon
Trainor was rated around the top 10 most of the year until the concussion stuff came out
Tauru had a good end to the year and the NorF hype along with Twomey's viking comments brought attention to him
Good player but i rather have smillie at #7

Trainor I rate very highly but he is almost too brave and leaves himself exposed to bunps and knocks. Dives at the ball and goes back with the flight. I’m an concerned by the longevity in his game.

Very similar to the way David Bourke played.

I would have liked Tauru and Trainor
