What midfields are elite contested marks ? Dusty wasn’t great , took more on the chest . A lot are good overhead marks very few would be elite,,,, for mine Langford looked that way, but he may not cut it as a mid at afl level
dangerflog was an elite mark a few years back, had contested marking numbers that would rival or even best key talls if he spent 100% of his time in the fwd line instead of splitting with midfield time

also a lot of dusty's "chest marks" would count as contested i think since he manhandles his defenders before taking the chest mark (in the fwd line)

The marking thing is overblown. If pushed forward and his matchup is 10cm shorter they're either going to chop his arm or give away free kicks. Or his reach will be too much on a lead.

I saw a number of good marks in his season highlights. Also he has a record of pushing forward and kicking goals in the juniors

imo no need to worry about smillie "dominating kids" and not translating to afl level, especially after a couple of preseasons. but even in his first season he'd be fine

here's smillie dealing with the 190cm manchild cooper hynes

he even made bo allan look weak a few times in the game vs WA

obviously most AFL players are years ahead in strength training, but smillie will catch up in due time with a great base to build on

**** it's exciting

1.49 is the ducks nuts

not enough love for this bloke

could be the best of the lot

How about the kid at 3:41 and 3:45 who didn’t try to get the ball himself but was very disappointed not to get a touch…
