There's a very real opportunity for Dattoli with us, as early as next year I think, in a way that simply wasn't there for Konstanty.

Konstanty was taken as the kid who would be Papley's understudy and back-up. If Dattoli works hard enough and pushes himself enough to not just bring the class but also the pressure, then there's potential there for him to actually offer things that Papley can't, and doesn't.

Which is not to say he will be better than Papley. Relax all.

Fun & utterly useless fact: “Dattoli” is derived from the Sicilian term “Dattula” which translates to “Date Palm”.

caesar88, I’ll wager that even Leonardo Lombard doesn’t have such a fascinating ancestral lineage.

Right, no more googling for me this evening.
Lombard doesn't know his ancestral heritage. They were all slaughtered in their highland villages, leading to Lombard's vengeful War of 1742.

However Dattoli's heritage is also interesting. It is nice to have an Italian on board, as a half-one myself. Let's just hope Horse doesn't piss him off, lest he find his head in someone's bed.

Dattolis are my relatives Jesse is going to be very good comes from a great Italian family his dad Vince is a legend in the local Northern league as coach and player also Jesse had Anthony Rocca as mentor since he was a kid

All Anthony wanted to do was to come home

In that case, let's hope he doesn't feel the need to run back to Victoria as soon as he's able like his mentor did.

Not a highlights package. All the interactions with the play over a single game. That's how I do most of my videos.

They are really well put together well done mate appreciate the work

This one shows more broadly what he can do. Contested marks inside 50 & good awareness the two standout attributes throughout.

Seems he plays above his height which is a good thing definitely need more movement and marking in the forward line. Im liking the pick more and more and think he will be a cheeky goal sneak like Paps

Love his combativeness and that he kicks on both feet. To hear him talk it sounds like he's got something approaching Rowell levels of competitiveness. Reckon we've got a good 'un.

Apparently he thought he was likely to be picked between picks 20 and 24 , most likely by the Bulldogs, Richmond or us (which is surprisingly specific! - and candid). But when the pick was called and his family and friends erupted, he was already wearing a Swans scarf. Did he have all 3 scarves handy and switch them after each pick was called until it got to us? If so, I'm not sure what to make of it. Probably I'd say it means he's professional with good attention to detail (or someone in his camp who is).

I hope he's cool with moving interstate after being passed over by Bulldogs and Tiges. I reckon even if he isn't thrilled he'll get on board.
