Hi all,

There doesn't seem to be a memorabilia forum (besides the market place, but I'm not sure that I want to sell) so I thought I would post this here.

I was flicking through an old book and found a ticket from the 1919 VFL grand final and I was just wondering if someone could give me some information on this sort of memorabilia. It's probably hard to value but if does any one have an idea what something like this might be worth? Are they common?

It's in pretty good condition as you can see in the photo, the writing on the ticket says "Coll 11 goals" I'm not sure what the next word is, maybe 'vs' then "7".

Thanks

Mate, i would contact the club im sure they could help authenticate it and maybe value it for you. If its rare they might put in the collingwood museum if you were able to part with it.

I'm a collector of cards (my pride & joy is a 1969 Die cut of John Greening-mint it still smells of Scanlens bubble gum!), no experience in seasons tickets.
I do however have my mum's 1958 Pies season ticket, although it has been clipped.

As to your question though, i would recommend going to Carnegie (in Ormond) Collectables. They seem to be the best (they valued my card collection last year) when it comes to fair price for such things. Mind you that still will be considerably less than what it's actually worth. Could also consider Charles Leski auctions if you find it has real worth. Don't go to Gardenvale Collectables.

Other wise, & what I would suggest, is sell on eBay. Do a bit of research on eBay for what such things are historically worth. Pick a price you are happy with as a minimum & list it as an auction. Obviously only put it up during the AFL season.

You'll either get your minimum or if your lucky multiple people might get into a bidding frenzy.:)

I love a bidding frenzy. Two yrs ago I sold a (basic) Nathan Buckley Brownlow card for $38. I bought & sold with in two weeks of that for $3.50.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply, I did a quick Google but couldn't find a Collingwood museum. I know the Hawks have one a Waverly, do you guys have one at Westpac?

Thanks OA, I gave Carnegie Collectables a call, but didn't really know to much about the value. I think he just had a guess as he said he had never seen a ticket like it before. Might try Charles Leski if I can get an idea of the value. Don't really want to pay much to have it valued, it might be worthless :D
