still think they would have attracted a larger crowd playing it on the Cup Day public holiday...

It's odd having an ODI series starting on a Monday.

I can't imagine that there will be much of a crowd there for it, most people probably wouldn't even know this game is on today.

No idea why this couldn't have started yesterday

why the **** does michael vaughan get a gig here?

Possibly because he's one of the better commentators around, there's some bad ones but he's very good as an analyst, would prefer Atherton though he's slightly better

didnt even know this was on, only found out due a random text message from one of the betting companies I once used.
Nice work Cricket Australia...might get a AFLW-esque crowd at the G today

CA seemingly couldn’t give two shits how many people rock up to or watch ODIs now. They’re less than an afterthought, the only reason we still play them is WC qualification. They probably don’t rank much higher than the domestic one day cup in terms of scheduling importance for CA.

It’s sad, because these games used to be huge events in town with a real party (and at time rowdy) atmosphere.

Im sure CA will pat themselves on the back, and continue to smell their own farts, after a sell out test series against India.
