If there's going to be any changes, maybe Jenkins (more experience than Sav) and Narkle for run and unpredictability.......
Narkle seems to have hit his straps the past couple of scratch matches - a month ago the news on him seemed a bit neither nor, but definite positives on him the past couple of write-ups, and he can provide something different in our midfield if selected

To be fair Kolo did ok against degoey even though he kicked 5 goals, 2 were from umps ( not kolo's fault) and 2 junk time goals
Didn't he do a pretty good book job on him in the opening round last year - DeGoey kicked a couple of early goals, Kolo moved onto him and he didn't kick another goal

He needs to be rewarded for ongoing good form.

Hopelessly optimistic (and perhaps slightly deluded ) takes incoming:

-played crap but still got within 7 points in the last quarter away
-finals maligned players like Henderson and blitz played well when the rest of the team didn't
-another game under the belt of underdone players
-no more byes
-semi-neutral venues from here on in.

Iv never been fan of playing Esava as much as we have this season... but I'll be happy with the changes, even if it was Jenkins instead of Esava ill be happy...
But in all serious, you know Chris Scott won't do all the changes down back...

In : Jenkins Clark Narkle Close
Out : Kolo Henry Dalhaus Atkins

O'Connor Blicavs Taylor
Bews Henderson Stewart
Menegola Guthrie Duncan
Rohan Jenkins Ablett
Miers Hawkins Dangefield
Stanley Selwood Parfitt
Clark Touhy
Narkle Close

We have a Steven and a Stephens no Stevens and our Steven has done a hamstring so he won't play.
For me, 3 changes required. 1. The final last year against the Pies we were murdered by Moore. We need to play a taller marking option (Jenkins or Sav, go Jenkins with a surprise factor).We drop a small forward (Atkins). 2. We are playing 8 defenders, one of the talks get dropped for Clark as we need run (Henry or Kolo as they won’t drop Taylor or Hendo).3. With Steven injured we play another mid (Narkle), Miers plays forward and we drop Dalhouse(terrible on thurs).
we need Danger in the middle or we get pumped.
What will happen Scott plays Zguthrie (always plays against Pies for balance) no other changes. If we do that we will struggle against the Pies quick moving game. Anyway nice to beat the Pies in a final, it’s been a while.

I’d like to see one of Ratugolea/Jenkins play to ensure Blicavs stays at full back. I’ve gone with youth but would be just as happy to see Jenkins come in.

No chance whatsoever.

Is Zach Tuohy doing enough to retain his spot?

Earlier this season he moved out of defence and into more of a midfield/attacking role, and that seemed to be providing positives earlier in the move; but with his late season knee soreness & the rib issue from the Dogs match, not sure the move is still having the same positive impact

Reports from training last week were that he didn't train with the main group due to his knee issue, if that's causing him problems between games and we aren't necessarily getting his best during games - would we get more from the selection of Narkle as part of the midfield/forward unit instead?

Did i hear Steven got injured in the scratch match and is out for year (hammy?)

If so then id make 1 change.

Esava for Henry.

Henry looked a dear in headlights and dont see a great matchup for him. Who will be the defensive match ups...

Taylor->Mihochek
Henderson->Cox
Bews-> Elliott
Stewart->DeGoey
O'Connor->Hoskin elliott
Kolo-> Daicos

Close?
Kolo on Daicos doesn’t work, maybe bring in Clarke

It’s a valid question.

I think he’s borderline as a midfielder/forward. I’d like to see him moved back to defence.

Would have been more confident against wce in qld. Pies play well against us. But in saying that, this game is winnable. Just need the players to see a sports psych during the week, and hawkins to spend the week doing nothing but goal kicking practice.

For ins i would look at squeezing narkle in. One defender out.

Would be an absolute hail mary to pick Jenkins at this point to play as a forward, I'd back in Sav if only to avoid a huge lack of chemistry in the forward line
Bit like Hendo last year except Jenkins is a proven forward.

Get Guthrie out of the centre bounce and out no to the wing and we will be a chance of breaking even in there.
Why would we move Guthrie out of the role that earned him an AA blazer this year? He may have been named on the wing in the AA side but he's only played there 17% of his game time

And in terms of centre clearances - he's in our top 5:
Dangerfield: 2.06
Fort: 2
Selwood: 1.92
Stanley: 1.62
Guthrie: 1.22

It's unlikely we'll see Fort playing on the weekend, so surely we therefore aim for a centre bounce combo of Stanley, Dangerfield, Selwood & Guthrie when possible

The only other player seemingly locked in our 22 who averages over 1 centre clearance per game is Parfitt with 1.07.

Does Parfitt play? He's great at finding the ball and 'adding pressure', but his lack of polished disposal, kicking penetration and slow footy-smarts...the opposition play to his weaknesses...Steven or Close might be the better option here.
Steven had hamstring tightness during the scratch match and came off. Won’t play.

Look I agree with you, gets me so sad that Chris Scott doesn't like to change things which is so obvious from a outsider
