They must be scraping the bottom of the barrel if that got nominated. Good clunk but not moty material
They have three nominees each week and then the weekly winners go in the end of year comp so I don’t think it’s overly surprising ? 🤔 It’s better than the other two 😂

Needs to go the ball when it's his turn instead of looking to run through campaigners (or do both)

Agree. Also needs to just give a handball and not have visions of grandeur by trying to side step players.

Sam Draper is an enigma. He's the kind of player who we would ordinarily say has x-factor, which is really code to say he can do some extraordinary things and is just average otherwise. He stands out because we don't usually use x-factor to describe a ruckman.

He only has 37 games to his name so he's obviously a work in progress, but his inability to get to a position to clunk marks or to hold them when he does is something I find very frustrating. I would love to see him step up to the Gawn, Darcy, Witts heights, but to do so and to capitalise on his work around the ground he needs to take those marks. The current thread title is a smokescreen.

Hopefully his ability to read the play improves with experience, as his raw physical ability is outstanding for a player of his height. Ideally he's a more mobile Mumford.

Bryan probably has more football IQ and is cleaner with his tap work so will be a more Gawn-esque ruckman.

That goal is the best thing I have seen for many a year :)

Nick Nat is a good comparison although Draper probably the better aerialist (barring the odd Nic Nat hanger). Like Natinui he influences the game in ways you dont. necessarily expect from a ruckman. Also like Natinui he is just a super powerful athlete.

Another one for the woodshed, gave Witts a thorough working over.

If anyone tries to coach that kind of crazy horse stuff out of him I’ll straight up murder them, too much fun.
