I was interested to see if Hawthorn had tried him back there when I heard we were. Do you know if he started as a defender then went forward, never to go back? Or did they try him again down back when he was a little older but no longer in their first choice forward line?
He was the U18 All Australian Full Back ...

did not play AFL in his first two seasons ... when McCrae was Assistant at Hawthorn in 21 he had him moved forward for the first time ... kicked 27 goals from 20 games ... McCrae left and so did Kosi's ability as a forward

Kosi has effectively only had three seasons of football due to COVID ...

He is a KPB capable of going forward ... same as Balta, Young and Bauer ...

Positive steps. Only taken half a season to realise.

Right after we draft more defenders
He was tried and failed at the Hawks in the backline, his best season was forward. Maybe something clicks now but its seeming like a swing and miss here.

Seems like a "he can't possibly be worse than he has as a forward" play

With lefau injured he probably plays next week as a forward for Afl ….. who else do we have to pick but him?
If he is fit and he doesn't get a game next week, it's almost as if they have drawn a line through his name with two and a half years left on his contract. If that's the case whoever rubber stamped this deal should be held accountable.

The fact that he has played so little in a team currently sitting 17th on the ladder in the midst of an injury crisis is frankly amazing. Even the most pessimistic among us as to Koschitzke's worth couldn't have predicted this.

If Koschitzke's 3 years at $250k or whatever deal is the worst contract on our list then I am pretty sure whoever rubber stamped it will be happy to be held accountable.

How do we know it's three years? I thought it was two from memory.

Contract Status: Out of contract at the end of 2026

yes too long..but its the era of contract length inflation. 7, 8 year contracts FMD.

Anyhow Kosi playing OK down back in the VFL is sadly needed KPP depth.

Blight Grey, Bauer played well.

VFL team obviously lacking a ruck I woudda taken any VFL level ruck too.
