During the third quarter I was thinking along the lines of but for a dumb umpiring decision (not to pay his first contested mark about 15 from goal), then the second dumb decision to ping him (when Cameron drove him into the ball), being burned badly on the lead, and despite a few missed catches, he was playing the game that proved he is AFL standard and potentially a good player at that.

By the end of the last it was just a genuinely good game.

The Sydney game exposed the soft underbelly and I think it was almost the game he had to have. He really addressed his competitiveness last week and this week he put it all together and ended being good on ball and really good forward.

It's 2 games he's played in the red and black now that show the sort of player he should be.

He really could have taken the game apart today. If he can maintain that level of intensity it is only a matter of time.

Don’t let his dopey face fool you - he was a competitive beast today

I should apologize for what I said about him last week. I initially believed he was an astute pickup then doubted him and now I've gone back full circle.

Like Langford he has all the natural gifts except intensity (which means that, like Langford, he'll go from droppable to star from week to week).

I think people believe you can just choose to switch on intensity and if you don't it's because you're lazy but it just doesn't work like that. Either way, Wright will be good for a pick 70 odd but we can't expect him to play like this every week.

Clearly a confidence player - clunked one in the second half and everything clicked. Massive second half. Was pleasing to see and hope he can sustain it.

He’s a lovely kick - for goal and around the ground.
That's the best game I've seen 2 mt Peter play and agree with massive second half. Surprised me bigtime with huge marks, ruck taps, knock on's, 'deadly' straight kicking for goal and he did it all when it mattered the most with big crowd in high pressure 2nd half of game which has not been his go at all in AFL games to date as he normally goes missing under pressure, this could be a major turn around for him and the Bombers.

Reckon the trick will be persevering with him, which they have so far.

Got to give him the first 10-12 games to get some consistency and meet the levels required and live with a few stinkers in that stretch.

I really liked seeing him work up to half back to give us an option coming out of defence because unlike most ruckmen he has the foot skills to do more than just boot it down the line when he does get it . I'm not sure if he only did this when he was playing in the ruck or he had a bit of license to roam as a forward. Just hoping the coaches work out how to make the most of this when Draper is back and 2MP has less time in the ruck.

Agree. He dropped a few in the forward line early. He started taking a few contested marks in the backline and then got the confidence to mark everything from there on in. Defiantly a confidence player.
