Anyone seen St Kilda play in the wet this season?
Hi
Just wondering what happens with which team wears the home shorts?
I noticed You guys wore your white shorts for the last 2 GF's which i found strange. Is that because it was reccomended by the AFL because of a potential clash. I thought that the top team has right to home shorts in a GF. I've also heard that there is a toss of a coin between both club presidents to see who wears home shorts. I noticed my Saints wearing white shorts in our Pre-lim against the dogs which didn't make sense.
Whats the deal and what do you prefer?
I would rather wear our traditional black home shorts..............
nope... should have got the sprinklers on in the dome a few times...
No one has any rights in the grand final for top billing.
They used to flip a coin for who go to wear the home shorts but now I think the AFL just tells you what to wear.
I think they may flip a coin to choose who gets first pick of the change rooms.
For me I prefer the blue shorts but I get the feeling the AFL will make Geelong wear white and St Kilda their black shorts.
In the end it matters very little Geelong have worn White in the last two grand finals.
It matters little, by why should we bend over and let the team that finished 2nd in the last two years wear their home strip? This year the the Saints should wear the home strip because they finished first.
It has everything to do with the AFL and nothing to do with bending over and taking it.
It is not worth the fight in grand final week and the AFL can make you wear whatever they want.
The clubs have no rights on grand final day. It is no-ones 'home game' and it used to be decided by a coin toss not who ended up higher on the ladder. Wasn't it the winner go to pick either the strip or the change room they would use? Or am I just making it all up? But I could have sworn that was how it worked in the past.
Except if you're Collingwood...or Essendon...or Carlton...all of these clubs have told the AFL to stick their clash jumpers and would certainly be wearing their home uniform in a Granny no matter what. I dont actually know what the polciy is with AFL making teams wear what they say. But it just seems like only some clubs abide by it, which shits me.
He didn't. He said Stokes "probably deserved" a spot. Doesn't mean he will be fit, and doesn't mean he will get in even if he is fit.Bomber basically made it clear that Stokes would come in for someone. So yeah.
Can we whack Stokes in the knee to amke sure he stays out?
What about Hawthorn torched St Kilda and Geelong struggled against Western Bulldogs in 2008?I'm in Adelaide - the home of murderers and churches. An article in the local rag by a journo that I have long despised predicts that the Saints will win relatively comfortably (by 3 goals).
Reason? Because he is using the 2007 prelim finals as a form guide. ie, Port easily beat Kangas and Cats only just beat Pies, and we alll know what happened in the GF. Therefore Saints should win easily
Surely this reasoning is daft.
Team should be chosen on form and not reputation, and given Stokes's relatively patchy form of late i cant see why you would want to change a winning line up.
