2009 Trade Discussion - Part 5

Same trade I'm contemplating this week. Cooney looked really good on the weekend, should average 90+ from here on and slot nicely in as your 5-6th mid, and only around 320k

Only worry for me is trading out Rich, I got burnt a few years back with another gun rookie in Selwood, after I traded him out he averaged around 100 for the next 10 games (no saying that Rich is going to do this btw). Just think Rich has a few more weeks left in him

Do you have any other mids that you would consider trading?

And does any1 have any thoughts on Krak to ROK this week? (costing only 11k)

For me its between Rich and Otten. I think both have more cash to make, but Otten is a better DT prospect, so im more willing to give him the time. Plus Rich is playing the Saints in two weeks which could completely stunt his movement.

Has Otten actually played in the midfield so far this year? I have him, but life would have been so much easier if he was named as a back.

I agree, he would have been a great 7th/8th back.

Doesnt he play back pocket and then pinch hit in the midfield a little bit (but not much)?

I think he did at the start of the season. But he plays as a tall marking defender, who is a link-up man. Huge DT potential in that.

Thinking of just holding off on trades for the next 2-3 weeks despite copping 4 zeroes this week. I've got 13 of my squad either injured of not selected this week so even if I make trades it isn't going to help much. Hoping I can keep a ranking around the 5000 mark during that time and can then make up ground in the second half of the season when I've got plenty of trades left and a lot of people will be running out or will have run out of theirs.

Bock will miss another week, and article mentioned he is in doubt for the week after that. so could be a 3-4 weeker. must have been a really bad "strain".

Krakouer to Stevie J is my possible trade this week.

I'm interested as to why you would want to trade Krakouer out Chad, he has only really had one poor week? Surely you must have more issues than Krak right now.

Anyone know anything about an injury to Whitecross? Mate's been saying he saw it on the footy show. If so, I'll get Cooney in for him this week.

Might wait one more week for ROK as he has a fairly high B/E IIRC.

Dangerfield and Petrenko will stay in my team, won't pick up enough cash from them ATM.

Macaffer and Sidebottom should hold their spot after they played well tonight, so happy that they will keep going up.

4 trades used, covering the following players:

Houlihan, Raines, Broughton
Kane Cornes, Robinson, Anthony
Jacobs, Spencer
Mitch Brown, Hentschel

Can't justify any trades this week, zeros or no zeros. Just doesn't add up.

just wanting some help guys, relatively new to DT. Currently my mids are looking like Ablett, Swan, Kornes, Gibbs, Coughlan, Rich, Zaharakis, Anthony.

Now with Ablett, Swan, Kornes and Anthony likely outs is it worth burning a trade on Anthony->Rookie(prob Cockie) to have cover for a zero. In relative terms what is a trade worth (points & cash). Make not i only have 14 trades left however (touch wood) the backs and mids seem alright for now injury wise.

I have 154k in the bank and am straight swapping Otten this week leaving me with about 412k. Choices are Marc Murphy, Dal Santo, Mitchell, Thompson and Judd. Who would you pick?

What are people's thoughts on jack Grimes with Frawley and Rivers being out for a few, 109 first game back from Injury, im seriously concidering Hodge > Grimes + $145,000.

I know its a downgrade, but anything would be better than Hodge's scores, i think Grimes could ave 80, is known to rack them up...

Am i convincing myself of this trade?? It sounds stupid but would give me a total of $220k to fix other areas.

Right now my backs are:

Fisher, Cornes, Goddard, Mackie, Houlihan Hodge, Petrenko

Broughton, Cheney

What are people thinking of doing with hodge? And what would you do in my position?

Not sure what trade to do here.
This week to Hayden to Grimes
then next week trade Kerr for Ablett

or...
This week Petrenko to Grimes and Kerr to Corey/Pendlebury

Dodged many of the major injuries this week. Only 1 zero in the forward line because of the Brown/Higgins fiasco.

This week im looking at:
Robinson ---> DeBoer
Rich -------> Cooney

Only problem is that there is 1 more week left in both these guys. esp with Robbo in line for selection. I really want to bring in Cooney for his scoring potential because ive been covering Ablett with a Rich/Zaha/Coughlan combo...which worked quite well this week.

Cooney is a premium keeper in my eyes and this week is the right time to get him. Regardless of the ~20k I might lose if both Rich and Robinson pass thier breakevens.

Am i thinking correctly?

What BB said, from that list most would say Murphy however i have a good feeling about Dal Santo and Thompson.

Do you think Dal Sants can keep it up though? Has his game changed at all, or is he just not getting tagged as much?

Ive got 300k in the bank, but trades are tight. Have suffered a lot of injuries (like most) so need to be chasing bargains. For this reason, im thinking of picking up Cooney. Will trade out either Rich or Otten. Will leave me with 220k or 235k.

Following week will do Rich or Otten down to Sidebottom, giving me roughly 370-390k. Enough for upgrades to Hill, Walker/Brown and possibly Hartlett in 4 weeks.

The other option is to just do Rich/Otten -> Thompon/Dal Santo and then try to manage cash from there. May require me to do more downgrades in the future though.

Because when Cockie gets injured or dropped. I wont be crying about it in 2 weeks time with the majority of other people on this forum.

DeBoer spot is safe for a very long time, and im not looking to start him anyway. DeBoer will be in line for some more midfield time, which will see his scores improve. The first game he played as a half forward, then went to shutdown Wirrpanda. The second game he played purely as a HFF.

With Schammers suspension, I believe DeBoer will explode on his bubble game.

Do you already have Cockie?

If not, its a bit of a strange selection considering Cockie will likely go up 20-30k more then De Boer does in the first 2 weeks of there price rises.

And he was thrown into the centre bounces for pretty much the whole of the last quarter in the absence of Priddis and Kerr. Says something about what they think of his ability and want to get the hard ball.

Did one trade last week, Walker ----> Macaffer.

Was pretty angry at Walker's score but now I see the possible trades open up this week with my $85,000 Cash.

Two trades this week will probably be:
Whitecross ----> Cooney
J.Riewoldt ----> ROK

Or I could get Cooney this week, then wait another to pick up Gia.

You could probably make some more money off robinson, I'm pretty sure he will come back in this week
