I think the Eagles will surprise many next year. Look at how they have performed in the 2nd half of the year without Cox and Kerr for the most part.

I rate Sydney but losing Hall and Micky O will cost them. I just can't see where the goals will come from.

Way too early and probably way off the mark. I suspect there will be at least one more side to slide out of the eight.. I'll wait until the 3rd list lodgement to decide upon that though. I really want to fit Brisbane into that eight too.

I think West Coast will crack the Top 8, only have them above Carlton because I think they will turn Subiaco Oval into a fortress again. Hawthorn to bounce back. Melbourne to improve, but not enough to get off the bottom of the ladder. Richmond to just escape the spoon.

1. Collingwood - There improving every year they might even win the premiership this year but next year will be a good season for the magpies.

2. St.Kilda - Will probably win the premiership this year but as for for next year they will have another dominating season.

3. Western Bulldogs - Look at collingwood

4. Adelaide - There foward line is just getting better and better this year there foward line has been there best in a long time and i can just see it getting better.

5. Brisbane - There midfield is great they have a lot of potential and should take into the finals this year and next year.

6. Geelong - They will drop in form with the list getting older and they have been at the top for too long.

7. Carlton - Look at brisbane

8. West Coast - There list is young but they have potentiali can see them making the finals next year.

9. Essendon - With the big fowards moving on lucas and probably lloyd but they still have a lot of young kids i.e. michael hurley, but i still cant see them making the finals.

10. Sydney - With the list still being old they still have a lot of guns i.e. goodes i still cant see them making finals.

11. Hawthorn - There backline isnt as good as it used to be i cant see them making the finals.

12. Fremantle - With all the young kids there i can see improvment from this year exciting times ahead.

13. Melbourne - Look at fremantle.

14. North Melbourne - There new coach brad scott i cant him doing anything in his first year of coach.

15. Richmond - Also there new coach wont be so successful in his first year.

16. That just leaves one team that team being the jacqual & hyde of the AFL port adelaide they are so inconsistant its not funny i cant see them winning more than 4 games next year.

Premiers - Collingwood
Brownlow - Dane Swan
Coleman - Jonathan Brown
Rising Star - Tom Scully

i know its not the best predictions but i rushed it.

Exactly. Essendon won't make it next year.

We'll have David Hille back. Watson, Ryder, Hurley and Pears will all be even better next year. I'd have us as locks, maybe even as top four.

As for the Swans, enjoy your ten years of mediocrity.

10-West Coast
11-Port Adelaide
12-North Melbourne

14-Fremantle
15-Sydney
16-Richmond

Any thoughts?

Some people... putting us last!! Everyone knows after a down year Richmond always return to take what we deserve the next year... our rightful 9th spot!

Not much point in these things but I will give it a crack anyways.
1. Geelong - I still thing when they get everyone on the park they are a bit above the rest
2. Western Bulldogs - Still can only go up in the next couple of years for me.
3. Collingwood - Will be there somewhere, Mick will continue to the get most out of what he has.
4. Adelaide - Would not be surprised to see these guys even finish as high as 1st, heaps of upside there.
5. St. Kilda - Floater for mine. Could repeat their performance from this year or I would not be surprised to see them slip back down to battling for the 8. This one would obviously be an easier call after finals.
6. Brisbane - Young and improving list but still a little bit off the big boys.
7. Carlton - Same spot as this year, odds are a harder draw in 2010 but another one who you would not be surprised to see finish top 4 or struggle to even make the
8. West Coast - Like many I believe they are the big improver, if they don't make the 8 I believe they certainly will be pushing for it. However could end up like us and late season form means nothing.
9. Essendon - Could easily finish above the three teams above them. I believe they will be better without Lloyd but will probably be a bit inconsistent with their young list.
10. Hawthorn - Probably my riskiest selection. If they get a full strength team out for the majority of games then they are certain to finish top 8. However I doubt they can and their depth has shown to be inadequete when competing with the top 8 teams. Risky backline and ruck stocks don't help if the forwards/mids start to go down or go missing.
11. Sydney - Their disciplined play and heart will ensure they will always be good enough to knock off the bottom few sides, lost too much talent to push the top teams anymore.
12. North Melbourne - Similar scenerio to this year. Not enough in the youngsters to make a big leap in one year.
13. Richmond - I don't think we will be as pathetic as this year. The start will judge where we finish as normal and Hardwickes coaching. Would honestly be surprised to see us get the spoon as I feel our youngsters are as good as Freo/Melbourne and the class of Cousins/Richo if fit may help us get over the line in a couple.
14. Fremantle - These last few teams(North & Richmond included) are a toss up, I would be surprised if any finished higher than 10th but not surprised to see any of them finish 11-16 in any order. Still a couple of years away the Dockers.
15. Port Adelaide - Who the hell would know with these guys? With a couple of their big names retiring and on their late season form they look fairly ordinary. In true Port fassion could fool us all and come out and make a GF next year.
16. Melbourne - A bit of upside there no doubt but unlike others I am not willing to pump them a few spots up the ladder. Still too many with a fair way to go. No genuine superstar to really be able to dominate a game on a regular basis(Sylvia maybe?).

Only my opinon of course. Like any ladder prediction will be way off when looking at this in 12 months time!

Cant help but laugh at how stupid some of these predictions are. Sydney in the top 8. Right.

Not as stupid as you may think. They have the determination and will remain competitive for sure. If they can win a few more close games, unlike this year, then will be close enough. I see us just missing, but its definitely not a horrible prediction.

Not as bad as people predicting Port in the top eight. No gamebreakers, no culture, will be near the bottom.

Definitely the most accurate ladder so far. :thumbsu:

I'll leave mine to when the draw comes out, does anyone know when that is?

Good chance of Carlton missing the 8 next year. One or two KEY injuries and it's an uphill battle to make the 8.

The only person more KEY to us than Waite and Jamison is Fevola.
We've done better than I would have expected without those two. VERY important to our structure, and we would really love to have them in for Brownshaw.

Cant help but laugh at how stupid some of these predictions are. Sydney in the top 8. Right.

People were saying that in 2002. How'd that work out? If anything we were in a worse situation at the end of 02 than this year (BTW, I'm not saying we'll finish top 8 next year at all, just that it's not out of the question, and we'll be far from cellar-dwellars).

Anyway, my rough prediction:

Collingwood
Doggies
St Kilda
Hawthorn
Geelong
Carlton
Adelaide
Essendon

Brisbane
WC
Sydney
Melbourne
Port
North
Freo
Richmond

I've got Brisbane at 9th. Surprised myself with that one. A year away, perhaps? Damn, I hate doing these things.

That's actually not as stupid as it seems. Port's line up on paper has so many talented players its not even funny. For some reason though it just doesn't click on field. I guess people are thinking they'll come good in 2010. My main concern for them would be for their ruck with Lade retiring. Guess we'll just have to wait until next year to find out.

As for my Predictions:

1. Collingwood - I hate to say it but they've got a good list coming through and will probably win a premiership in the next couple of years.
2. St Kilda - will still be up there, but i think Collingwood will pip them for top spot.
3. Adelaide - Great bunch of youngsters coming through. One of our most potent forward lines I've seen in our time. Our golden oldies will probably want to end their careers with a bang *fingers crossed*
4. Bulldogs - Would have to say, they're on par with Adelaide. Wouldn't be surprised if they steal 3rd from us if they continue this years gameplan... bastards :p
5. Geelong - Tricky one to pick. As of now they look to be dropping off a bit on their past form. Difficult to predict whether they'll drop off or continue their reign over previous years. Just have to wait and see on the Cats.
6. Brisbane - Something about the Lions just screams "Top 8!!" Got some great talent coming through (Rich, Redden, Clark, etc.) Wouldn't surprised to see them higher than 6th.
7. Hawthorn - They'll be out to forget 2009 quickly. They'll come good next year I think. Top 8 good? Yes. Premiership good? I dont think so.
8. Carlton - Have so many promising young midfields it's not funny. I just don't see Brett Ratten as being a premiership coach (I'll probably live to regret those words )
________________________________________________________________

I'm too tired to bother with my explanations for the Bottom 8.
Essendon
Port Adelaide
West Coast
Sydney
Richmond
Melbourne (Not last )
North Melbourne
Fremantle

Yeah Port will either have a massive wake up call in the pre season and decide to play to their talent and play as a team in which case they will do very well or they will internally implode and finish right down the bottom.
