France are certain? I doubt they'll finish first. Like Uruguay at a minimum to take a point from their game. South Africa could do anything and Mexico arent bad like always. Difficult group and they are nothing but a risk. Could even say the hardest group to pick 2 to qualify.

Germany are much safer as they're better and in a weaker group.

France are certain. Midfield is too strong for all of them. 2nd best midfield at the cup for mine and when you add in the attacking wingbacks they play with they are just gonna dominate possession. France, Mexico to go through. Uruguay to choke like always. Overrated. Uruguay are fantastic upfront but the defense and midfield leave a bit to be desired.

Totally agree.

Last 7 World Cups Germany has at least made the Quarters, they are bankers. You have to massive cojones to think France are certainties after what they've shown so far.

France are not certain. Uruguay and Mexico will perform, South Africa could be anything, there are no certainties there.

You'd rather pick the 2nd standout teams from each group to qualify to boost value. USA, Paraguay, Chile are more certain then France to advance.

As someone mention picking Spain and co to qualify is not worth the value for risk. If you were to pick Spain, have the balls to pick them as group winners, otherwise its just an unnecessary leg.

FYI i think its better to pick Chile Qfy then Spain Win group as it gives more flexibility for Chile to finish 1 / 2 and have a higher value.

Alot of people underrate the Germans dont they?

They perform every world cup.

Id definetaly take Germany Qfy 1.20 over France Qfy 1.37

Although being abit greedy, i took Aus Not Qfy 1.40 over Germ Qfy 1.20 :p

My bets so far:
-$10 on Aus vs Germany- Draw/Germany (half time draw/full time win to Germany) @4.25

-$50 on Spain @$5 to win the whole thing

-$10 Germany vs Australia, Germany by 1 goal @ $3.35

-6 Leg multi paying $8.97 (Slovakia win over NZ, Germany win over Australia, England win over USA, Brazil win over North Kora, Spain win over Switzerland, Serbia win over Ghana).

Only worried about Serbia over Ghana at the moment.

$1.90 is super value for Germany to top their group. They've done so in the last 4 World Cups and there is no reason why they can't again.

Brazil, Italy, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy, England all to win their groups paying $14.

7 favourites won in '06, can see the same happening this year. France are to big of a risk, I think they will qualify but are a massive risk to not win.

england group c winner
holland group e winner
italy group f winner
spain group h winner
$50 @ 3.44

van persie holland top scorer
$100 @ 2.40

di natale italy top scorer
$50 @ 5.00

new zealand total points - 0
$50 @ 2.10

cahill 1st goal scorer/australia 1-1 germany
$5 @ 51.00

france not to score a goal is gud value
Nah, the French are certs to get through their group, and may even go "deep" in the Cup.

The French are always whinging amongst themselves before any tournament starts, yet when the games are started, they exceed everyones expectations.

They will make it through their group, and are one of the value bets of the cup to make at least the quarter finals.

I'm not going to "talk them up" too much, as I don't have 1 dollar on them, I'm just saying don't be surprised if they shock a few people and get further then expected.

I'm still on the Argentina bandwagon, it's kind of like supporting Freo, you know at any minute it may just blow up in your face, but they have so much talent that anything is possible if they don't "blow it".

Plus the $8.00 I got for them a while back looks like the best price available now. (Not that it means anything if they lose).

My bet of the first night is South Africa to beat Mexico @ $2.75, home sides have great records, especially in tournament openers, and we all saw what SAF did when they hosted the RU world cup. (yes Invictus got to me:eek:).

your point is well made. i still dont see anything good about france. players being played out of position.. they struggle with there play.. i just really dont rate france this year..

ribery top goal scorer is a chance for the french :thumbsu:

agree matty. yes they're always bickering amongst themselves, yes they made it through qualification by the skin of their teeth, but you cant ignore a side with players the quality of ribery, evra, gourcuff, anelka, toulalan, abidal, gallas, sagna, the list goes on...

if they can get it right they'll go a long way. they're certainly a class above the other sides in their group, that cannot be disputed.

Germany are missing there most important player. Michael Ballack. While hes not fantastic for Chelsea at international level hes one of the best in the world at his role and without him they will be lost. They now have Bastian Schweinsteiger playing a unfamiliar role at DCM which is gonna hurt the structure alot. Take into account also the poo form of the strike force. Gomez and Klose are good players but couldnt score in a brothel all year. First choice GK is injured which is a big deal when talking about structure and familirisation. Knowing your GK is important to any CB. Got some injury problems down back to with the 2nd choice CB out of the opening rounds. When you also add the untried young talent on the wings like Ozil Muller etc its nothing but a huge risk when you add the fact they are in the toughest group at the cup

He played all season with Bayern as a CM/DM. I think he'll be the least of their worries.

Hahaha i think big cox might be playing an old version of Football Manager. Bastian started playing there a while ago, some would argue hes one of the best DCM's in the world. Tremendous ability to read the oppositions passes and cut them off.

gb:eek:

I know but playing DCM for Bayern and playing DCM for Germany are two different things and its probably what im most interested to see this World Cup.

Dare I say playing DCM for Bayern would be one of the easiest jobs in football
