2011/12 Player Transfer/Activity thread.

I have heard that the FFA are looking to cut the 5th Visa spot and 2nd Marquee contract.

Aussie marquee came about because the FFA though that a lot of lads would come back home after the 210 WC, so it was a bit of a knee jerk reaction.

Considering Cassio is about to Naturalise and Perchtold is going, that leaves just Sydney with 5 Visa places; Kisel, Cazarine, Moriyasu, Makela and recent signing Bosschaart. I also know that Heart will only be signing a 4th and final Visa player.

Make of that what you will.

If we can get this Maicon Oliveira then the attack is very good, just need a central defender and we are looking at a pretty nice team all up!

We won't be, Thompson will play at CB again. Final 2 players will be Maicon and a back up keeper (Rumours floating around for Seb Mattei, but he's a bit of a hack in all honesty)

Mattei is average as you said. They want a younger keeper, but there's not much out there in victoria. I know zois won't wasn't to so they will find somebody but don't know who

Next year will be down to four foreigners, and the year after three. AFC directive supposedly

Hope they don't cut the foriegners. Not sure we need to do that as a league.

I've always loved David Williams as a player, reckon he is an amazing signing for Heart. They are looking the goods for next season with a couple of these signings

Really need one more tall central defender, Thompson did a good job last year, but he was playing out of position, and would be much better off in the midfield. He has a lot of class and the role he's playing doesn't suit him. He will be exposed a lot more this year with the players that have been moved on from our back line from last year if he is continued to be played as a central defender.

Flores has turned down a deal with Adelaide and will be transferred to a Chinese club on Friday.

Terrible news for Adelaide and a big blow to the league in general.

Disapointing news, but can't blame any of the parties involved really.

Flores needs to look after himself and his family and is almost tripling his wage.

AU couldn't afford to match it.

Chinese Club is just doing what every richer club in the world does...

Still sucks though. Look on the (kind of) bright side though AU fans- at least he didnt come to Victory as per the ridiculous rumours a couple of months ago

You guys should have offered him an international marquee contract and bought a new sponsor on board to pay for it. Disappointing to see him go - Aussie clubs in general need to do more to keep players like this.

In other news Kofi Danning has joined Brisbne on a two year deal. Expect him to all of a sudden turn into a star knowing what happens when young players go to Brisbane.

I was surprised when we only offered $320k, but reading some of the things Flores has said after his transfer was confirmed I think that even if we did offer $500-$600k he still would have gone

Perth Glory have approached Bayern Munich youth team attacker Julius Davies about joining the A-League club.

Davies was a member of Football West's National Training Centre program for four years under former Glory assistant coach Kenny Lowe before being snapped up by the German giants in 2009.

The teenager signed a five-year deal and is highly regarded by Bayern's youth team boss Stephan Beckenbauer, son of legendary former Germany captain and manager Franz.

But Glory coach Ian Ferguson hopes the prospect of exposure at senior level in the A-League can lure the Sierra Leone-born former refugee to the WA side on a one-year loan.

Would be a good signing to replace Jelic as the back-up striker.
