Re: Round 15 Captain

Went with Griffin last week and it paid dividends (145x2).

Thinking a similar approach this week, or I may go a bit safer with Judd / Swan.

Buddy also on the radar.

Thought I was real smart after Friday night's game.. left the (C) on Griffin and it went beautifully.

Then Judd played. Wow.

Re: Round 16 Captain

Ablett, went Goddard this week and got 161 i think so reasonably happy, I was hating life after not picking captain but Goddard almost got him. Now I'll go gaj for rest of year.

:cry emoticon:

Seconded. *sigh*

I really do wonder how Goodes will go against GC. He's just one of those players that you don't trust in a situation like that.

I'm in two minds - 1) he won't get shifted into the midfield at any point if the Swans dominate, but 2) the ball should be in the Swans forward line plenty of times if that's true.

He's my starting position. I'll see whether I chicken out over the week.

Re: Round 16 Captain

Ablett, so good I almost considered putting him as captain during the bye :D.

Re: Round 16 Captain

Oh and.... Ablett v Swans (162 - 135, 203, 164, 155, 254)

Ummmm, dunno who the F taught you maths.

Maths 101:
135 + 203 + 164 + 155 + 254 = 911

911 / 5 = 182.2 Avg. PPG ;)

Re: Round 16 Captain

Oh ferk my mistake...that's even more ridiculous

Must be junior.:thumbsu::thumbsu:
I'd rather take ROK over Goodes as V-C though.
Perhaps this should be who do we make v-c thread:D

Re: Round 16 Captain

Backing Swan again this week! (because I don't have Gablett)

Wouldn't be surprised if GAJ is rested for long periods toward the end of the season. Well, at least I hope! :D
I know that's tongue in cheek but they've got no reason to rest him. He's their captain and they won't be making the finals. The only thing he could win is the Brownlow.

Re: Round 16 Captain

How many possies get in that 254 game against Sydney? That has got to be the biggest ever score in SC surely. If I had Ablett he would be captain but it has to be Pendles for me.

Ablett had 35 touches, 6 marks, 5 frees for and kicked 3 goals, all in the last quarter. Swans got within 5 points, so he would've scored about 100-150 in the last quarter alone.

And the record's held by Jonathan Brown, according to an old thread here.

Well they are monster scores. I thought Lindsat Thomas' 216 last year was huge

Re: Round 16 Captain

Hodge could be looking juicy for those that don't have Ablett, from yscc:

Three of Hodge‘s last five games against the Lions have delivered huge scores – 153, 174 & 188. Expect him to dominate Brisbane when they meet this week. Hodge played four games at Aurora last year, hitting the ton on each occasion and scoring 153+ in two of those games.

Re: Round 16 Captain

This is the week to be a bit crazy with your captain choice in the hope you'll be rewarded IMO. It's not like it'll lose you a league game and as long as you pick a good captain (don't go too off centre) you shouldn't lose too much if someone else fires.

Case in point:

the vast majority of people are picking GAblett this week which seems fair enough given his history of scoring against the Swans. I would usually jump on too, however can also see Goodes scoring quite well for the Swans. So I'm taking the punt on Goodes (or RoK) having a blinder against the GC boys. Sydney will want to assert their dominance in the interstate market up there (i.e. versus GC, GWS & the Lions) and could come out all guns firing. While GC would be trying to achieve the same thing, being younger bodies I expect them to come out strong initially and like every other week drop off by the end of the game (moreso the harder they go out early).

Either way (Ablett v Swans boys) you should make a reasonable score. I don't have to beat anyone this week so why not take a punt this week I say. :thumbsu:
