AFS ticking over nicely, long way down the order in the CC,perhaps they may go Metropolitan.Wherever he goes he looks to have the turn of foot needed.

Precedence was fine, getting the JB Cummings prep. Not 100% sure he's a MC horse either but ive rarely heard the stable put a bigger wrap on a stayer so thats good enough for me.

Baker's on record that Lion Tamer will be avoiding Caulfield so he nearly has to go Cox Plate, why not?

Fox Hunt won the German St Leger overnight & passed the 1st qualifying clause so he may join Jukebox Jury on the flight?
Had previously run 6th in the Ebor behind Ellison's 2 & Modun & in front of Godolphin's Lost In The Moment.

It had nothing to do with his previous injuries, he injured a tendon in what was his good leg this time. Just an injury prone horse i think. Nigel Blackison has been around for a fair while hasn't he?
I know I am going off topic here but anyways....

The problem not only in horse racing is the Governing bodies, they won't come out and ban a Moody or a Snowden as it would be bad for the sport. Darren Weir is one who has been suspended but unless your into horse racing you won't know him.

The bigger guys that get caught like Lee Freedman get the quiet talk behind closed doors, if you want to know when he got busted just have a look back through the Victorian Trainers Premiership (147, 201, 160, 144.5, 152, 76, 91.5 Wins).

Blackiston is currently having his best year in god knows how long (His strike rate is 33.33%, last year 10%. He needs 4 wins in his next 100 starts to match last year), he is one to follow for punting.

How much do you know about Lucas Cranach?

Not very much, about as much as I know about German form which has been considered the rough equivalent of Tatura.

Has been bought by the people who purchased Illustrious Blue last year & convinced the people who bought in that he would be competitive in a MC then become a WFA horse????

This horse has miles more scope than him but despite his impressive last start win I find it impossible to line him up.
At the $101 they got, fair enough but he's laughably short now

Actually finished down the field in a Group 2 in his last start. Has only been punted because of Mick Sharkie (one of the owners) and his website followers.

Lmfao shark is where I first heard of it. He keeps potting December Draw and saying Lucas is a good thing! I didn't realize he owned the bloody thing! Haha poor old sharky clutching at straws by the sound of it!

10 internationals left Heathrow this morning, due at @ 10am Saturday:

Modun looks interesting.

Lightly weighted, in form horse on the up.

In the Ebor, carrying 57.5kgs, he ran on from 16th to be 2.9l 4th.

Last start he won the group 3 September Stakes (WFA) by 1.5l beating Harris Tweed among others.

Bought by Godolphin (seemingly for the Cup?).

No. 41 on the order of entry. Will he get into the field?

Had to like his last win,sat wide & quickened away from them.
Progressive horse who clearly stays, will need a few more dropouts in front of him but fits the profile
of the Godolphin horse that always runs well.

Godolphin are leaving it til the absolute last minute with both Cavalryman & Lost In The Moment nominated to run at Ascot Sat night

Assuming they start quarantine straight after the race, both are due out of quarantine on Cup morning.......I guess you can do this when you have your own plane

Scarlett Lady is gone for the Spring, bone chip.

Alarm bells were ringing when they said she would go into Caulfield without another run......

Godolphin have settled on Modun & Lost In The Moment....finally

Modun, a new purchase from the Stoute yard is a last start winner (see the link on page 1) after a 4th in the Ebor
while LITM was 4th at Ascot Saturday night after a 2nd in the 2 mile Goodwood Cup & a 7th in the Ebor

Both are right on the cusp of gaining a start.

It had to happen, after the German form has been 3rd rate for decades, a 3yo German filly who wasnt even in the race til Thursday wins the Arc by 5 in record time.

Not sure what this means for Lucas Cranach who would have needed a tow rope to get within 8 lengths of Danedream last start?
Hopefully we get to see him in the Caulfield Cup.

Does anyone know the chances of Dunaden getting a run in the cup??

Dunaden looks good:
  • Won a G3 (beating Americain by 3.5l) over 3100m in April this year in France. In that race he was getting 3 kgs from Americain - he gets 4kg from him in the MC
  • Second (beaten a short head) in a G2 in France over 3100 in May this year
  • Finished in front of Americain (61kg) again in the Prix de Kergolay getting 2kgs from him. The race was won by Jukebox Jury (59kgs) and, although Dunaden was well beaten (5.7l), the trainers of both Dunaden and Americain said the race was run farcically slowly giving their horse no hope to make up ground on Jukebox Jury who led.
  • Apparently set for the Melbourne Cup
  • Handles all conditions (possibly slightly more effective in slow)
  • French form was made to look pretty good last year

From trackwork Tuesday at Werribee:

Olly rode Bauer but seems likely for Manighar
C Williams rode Dunaden & Corey Brown rode Lucas Cranach

Short interviews from each on the Racing Victoria site with some of the gallops
