2011 Ladder Predictions - Part 2

If it's a stagnet (sic) year for them, which do they drop from 10th to 14th?

Because standing still is going backward, esp. with so many clubs at development points of their rebuilds. ..

Does anyone know if the top 8 will become a top 9 when GWS join the comp?

Richmond would make the finals more often then?

It better not change to 9 or 10. .. Don't want to water down September any more than we have, 7/8 is usually just making up the numbers most year. .. I know that would include Carlton the last couple. .. but this Final 8 system rocks compared to the old final 6 and the debacle that was the first Final 8 system (McIntyre Final 8). ..

Ok look Hawthorn aren't much chop I know. I also think we might miss the finals as well. But I will offer you 50/1 on anything up to $100 for Essendon to finish above all of Hawthorn, Sydney, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Melbourne and Carlton. It's not going to happen.

Hawks will only miss the finals through injury, esp. to any of your tall players. .. but I agree unless Hird strings up a boot and he and the Velvet Hammer come out of retirement, 50/1 is generous odds on the Bombers leaping all those teams. ..

Essendon made the 8 circa 18 months ago and Hawthorn finished 10th at the same time. Anything can happen. I just won't be doing my ladder prediction based on a HUN report.

No bet. I have no idea how Essendon will go. If our players are fit and if they run both ways there is no reason they can't finish 6th despite what the BF hordes say.

Are Collingwood the most gifted team in the competition? Champion team beats a team of champions.

Fair enough, I understand there is cause for optimism at Essendon.

Hutchy did his top 8 which includes nm, gc and dees.
"In order coll wb haw melb stk geel nm gc. No room freo blues swans."
"Very confident all on demons. Tested pies twice last year. Backs and mids strong. Top 4"

I don't think the Blues are much chop, but Freo and the Swans would have to be in the top 8 right? Maybe at the expense of either Hawthorn, Melbourne or the GC

Yeah the lions were terrible last year but for us to finish 17th we are going to need to be a lot worse off with injury than we were last year and last year was one of the worst I can remember. Can't see the GC with half the team with AFL bodies getting more wins than us.

My ladder prediction at end of regular season:

Collingwood
Fremantle
Hawthorn
Gold Coast
Carlton
Brisbane
Adelaide
North Melbourne
Geelong
St Kilda
Footscray
Essendon
West Coast
Melbourne
Sydney
Richmond
Port Adelaide

Just wont happen. If you expect St Kilda, Geelong and the Bulldogs to fall that much, you are delusional. Each of them has way too much talent to even fall out of the 8.

Gold Coast and Brisbane will both be bottom 4. Not in the 8. Let alone the top 4 where you have GC.

I would like to hear your reasoning for dropping each of the cats, saints and bulldogs out of the 8?
